Name the first 5 who belong and why you think so.
Big Bill France is obviously #1 since he started stock car racing.
Clay Earles, builder of Martinsville Speedway, the oldest track on the circuit. It's older than NASCAR itself by 1 year.
Richard Petty, 200 wins says it all
Red Bryon, won the first NASCAR sanctioned race on the beach, first ever NASCAR champ in what was called the modified divison back then. First NASCAR champ in the new divison that eventually became the Cup Series the very next year which made him the first repeat champ. He did that with a left leg that was shot up in WW2 when his B24 bomber was shot at which left him with a bad limp after several surgeries to repair it.
Smokey Yunick, man was scary good with engines back in the early years of NASCAR even if some call it cheating or bending the rules.
