Default Snow Rollers.

A friend of mine emailed this to me. Pretty cool. I've never seen this. Never heard of it neither. Have yall seen this before? They look like frozen round bales.

Why aren't there any tracks of where the snow came off the ground and into the roll? If it snowed again after, why doesn't each roll have a "cap" on it.

If this wasn't a NOAA site, I would have to call bu!! ***** on this one!

With a date of Mar 31st I'd say it was an April fool's day hoax.

Actually...Those things really do happen. First time I saw one, I thought KIDS had to be up at the top of the hill rolling big snowballs off.

Some of those hills around Lewiston are steep, with only grass covering them, so there is a good chance for them to get moving good. The hills level off into hay fields, and grain fields.

You'll find that from a distance, with a telephoto shot, the tracks will not show up well at all. By copying the pics, and enlarging them, I believe I did make out a couple of tracks, but that's all. I've never actually seen them, but I have heard of them before. My mother and uncle, originally from NE, talked about them years back. From what I understand, it's genuine. It really does happen.

As I sit looking all around,
Confusion and uncertainty is all I found.
The answers are there,
But I do not know where.
Optimistic and hopeful dreams,
Are all I have so it seems.
The future I do not know,
So all I can do is take it slow.
But I do know it will work out,
So I wait and watch without a doubt

I was thinking the same thing, but I thought it was really interesting. I've never heard such a thing.
