someone must of really been bored to start this thread - this crap is the kind of stuff that kept me upset on the road ... No Respect ! ..... you don't hear ladies asking the males how a certain part of their body feels - after driving around all day in the truck - these kind of questions are the main reason I stay away from this board.

Just give us the credit due for the job we're doing ....

psshhhhhhhh, look at the damn video. it's an actual product. i didn't invent it. go complain to the people who made the product. maybe they'll give a damn.

as for the respect. it's earned. i don't believe in automatic entitlement just because of gender, religion, or whatever. do i expect you to show respect to me? no, i don't. i don't care. it's the internet. anything goes in the huge world that is the world wide web.

i never spoke to a female while out and about, in a demeaning manner. if i did, it's because the ******** asked for it. are you one of those, or are you one of those many who started driving because you NEED another man (or woman) to help take care of you, or are you one those super rare ones that actually drives solo without needing some type of companionship on a regular basis?

this thread is gonna go the route that one topic did back when somebody made a topic about reporting me for that awesome rick roll signature of mine. haters!

Your right Ridge .... guess I was a bit extreme over nothing ... an for that I'm sorry to those who had to read my post and get upset.

But I do want to reply to a statement Syncrosonix made ... ( "i never spoke to a female while out and about, in a demeaning manner. if i did, it's because the ******** asked for it. are you one of those, or are you one of those many who started driving because you NEED another man (or woman) to help take care of you, or are you one those super rare ones that actually drives solo without needing some type of companionship on a regular basis? It's a shame you never got the chance to get to know me ..... I started on the road back in the 80's ... never went to school .... picked up the CDL manuel on my Own - studied it and past the test. Then found a company that would hire me and train me with one of their drivers. .... I've NEVER had a problem getting a date .... I've been Proposed Marriage to many times ~ so having a man in my life has Never been an issue for me. I got into Trucking as a job to support myself so I'd never have to rely on someone to support me. I've driven solo around the USA and I've driven team ... with ladies and men. Trucking is and was my job ..... if i wanted a man or to party .... I'd do it when I was home. I have NEVER needed someone in the jump seat ..... I enjoy my own company and have no problem getting the job done by myself. ............. and by the way Syncrosonix .... I've heard the exact words you spoke on the CB since the first day I started on the road in the early 80's, so its nothing new to me.

I've been a member of CAD for years, and it's slowly gone down the tubes .... so I bid a fear well to the older members that know me and know that I was always a Professional on the road. I've fought for womens rights to be Truckers ..... and I'll always be proud of the Professional Female Drivers . I'll leave before I say anything else ..... because I will not apologize again for voicing my opinion as so many others do here ........

well damn, that's cool. i've come across many women who do it only to have a sugar daddy, to look good in the passenger seat while the sucker ass dude smiles his way to the next stop, and so on all while having no idea she's using him. if those dudes did, then they are extra stupid for putting up with it. i suppose desperation has lots to do with it.

i've only come across two out of the whole bunch who don't need anybody else around to validate them on a regular basis, and they could drive quite well. i still keep in touch with them.

Everyone's opinion is welcome on CAD, I believe. Also is welcome, the expressing of a difference of opinion (without personal attacks). I am a female driver and took no offense to the OP. I believe that when one is over sensitive to an issue remarks, events, and the like are taken out of content and are perceived in an unsubstantiated prejudice.

As a driver, period, I would like to thank you for being a professional and doing it justice. There are a lot of characters, period, that give a foul light to the profession. :hellno:

I really do not understand WHY women get into this industry, and then COMPLAIN when male drivers say the slightest off the wall thing to them! I am NOT saying that women shouldn't drive, I am all for it, and in the last few years the industry has really been trying to be a lot more accommodating to it. But the fact is a female regardless of what they do is going to attract a certain type of attention, especially in a male dominated industry!

If you ever listen to the radio, we male drivers make fun of, poke at, and say the craziest things to each other of all kinds! BUT we don't take it personal, hell unless someone was to come up to me and do something physical to me, I don't take any of it personal! Especially on the internet.

Personally I don't think this board is downhill at all.

You know, folks...

Years ago, I used to go rabbit hunting with a beagle. If the dog was a female, she would spend all her time hunting. If the dog was a male, he would only spend half his time hunting, the other half looking for a place to put it... Even a knot-hole in an old pine stump. And, checking scent markings in the grass to see if there was any hope for some extra action.

While driving a truck with the CB on, the women hear things they don't ordinarily hear. But, if they had bionic ears and could hear things said in offices, in factories, and other places... Even restaurants... The comments by men don't seem to change. Even those that say nothing have thoughts. Looking at the whole animal kingdom, human males are not the only ones that have those thoughts. The dog that rides with me in my truck doesn't drain his bladder until he's checked out all the places where all the female dogs have drained their kidneys. (He's an optimist... Even if the female is more than a hundred miles away by then, he still seems to think there's hope for him to...) It seems to be the nature of the industry that women get to hear things that men normally keep to, or between themselves, because the men don't seem to realize that anyone can hear what they say on the CB, or they know full well that they can not be identified by voice on the CB. We also seem to have more of the "uncooth" ones that volunteer to show a dog how to water the grass directly in front of a restaurant window. They really don't care what you think of them or their comments. And, why do they keep it up??? Just like my dog that checks out the grass before he leaves his own scent... Hope. And, from what I understand, once in a while, one or two of them actually does get lucky.

I'm sorry, Roses, but I doubt you'll be effective in any industry, much less trucking, in trying to stop men from what seems to come natually. There was one country I was in, in the Navy, where it was a compliment to a girl if you told her that her mother must have had a "beautiful pubic area". Customs and preceptions change with culture, but men's thoughts do not.

Yes, I do understand that it is not the nature of men that is the problem. It is the way they express that nature, and your preception of it. It takes all kind to make up a world, and just like women, we men do not wear tags saying "I'M A GOOD GUY" or "AVOID ME". For that matter, who among us would believe those tags anyhow?

Very well put WW. You will hear it all out there. I do want to add that it is not just the females that get harped on. We give each other hell all the time.

Case in point: When my ex-boss started driving again we were coming up to a store that we stop at on occasion. He ask if they sold fruit there. I responded that they did ( over the CB ). He said he needed a banana. I ask why. He stated that his legs hurt and maybe he needed some potassium. I said: " Oh, I thought maybe you were missing Steve ( his old co-worker in the office ). You should have heard the laughter over the CB.. His response: " Guess I better call the wife and tell her to get ready to make pudding. I'm sure I will have plenty of bananas left in my truck to bring home tomorrow.

We all take it in stride!

There's a healthy sense o humor required to survive in the company of the male animal. In the company of a LOT of them, that requirement becomes hyper-critical..
Some will take that to mean that the male animal is a joke.
As a practicing male animal, I find that to be true on the average..
Trouble is, all those Sensitive male animals women sometimes dream of seldom fulfill all of a woman's needs and desires long term.. thus we all suffer the never-ending "battle o the sexes."
What we are really want, male or female, is next to impossible to find in our lives, on the average..
It's the grandest joke.
Which is why those of us with a healthy sense o humor live longer and happier lives. :block:
