so says the article below

Also says that Jerry Moyes is in financial trouble, but given this is a sports news article, I won't panic yet :eek1:... besides it isn't on snopes.com :D

ESPN - NHL helping Phoenix Coyotes find investors or new owners because of financial problems (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3790207)

Yikes! That would be a double whammy... if the article is entirely factual!!!

Maybe he could buy the team AND Swift ;)

No more unexcused absences for you, missus! See what you missed while you were gone?

From a few of the follow up stories I've read, "the team is for sale" is a nice way of saying he can't give the freaking thing away.

I also started another thread on "Anything goes . . " that has to do with Jerry's relationship with the Snoqualmie indian tribe and his $50 MILLION dollar payday.

We work for an incredibly interesting fellow with unusually deep pockets.

I once read, anecdotely, mind you, that Jerry went to school with some/most of the high muckitty mucks at Flying J. I haven't been able to track down a legitimate source for that but I do look into it from time to time. As BigD asked, who saw their bankruptcy coming? So, to suggest that Swift is immune from that type of thing would be pure nonsence. My opinion is that, were it to happen, we Drivers would never hear the end of it but it would only be done in the interest of making Swift leaner and stronger. I am not worried.

That's the BIG payday thread, for your convenience. Notice the attempts to disparage the guy, like a quick 50 mil payday is easily within everyone's reach and all it comes down to is a nonchelant moral judgement.

"Nah . . keep the 50 huge . . youse guys is morons and you'll need it . . can I interest yiz in a few trinkets and a cuppla jugs of hooch?"
