I didn't know it but he rode with me from my driveway to Bree's middle school and then to Ben and Annie's elementary. As the kids got out of the truck, I heard the most God-awful noise and I thought it was a unusually loud bird. Everyone in the parking lot stopped and turned and were looking right at me..I was trying to figure out what was up. I got out and was looking for the bird...or around for whatever...trying to figure out why everyone was staring. A lady said...there is a cat in your truck. I said...I don't have a cat. She said..."get it out! get it out! you've got to get it out!". I was thinking...oh noooo...#1 - it had to come from my neighborhood. #2 - there are no friendly cats in my neighborhood. #3 - I'm dressed for work...I don't want to crawl under my truck to rescue a bloody cat!!!
Luckily, Dalton had thrown a piece of his breakfast (a sausage patty) at me while we were on the road so I looked for it on the floorboard...and proceeded to locate the cat. He was fine. He jumped down, and climbed right into my arms and started purring and "kneading" on my arm. Great. So I head back to my neighborhood to try to drop him off...he didn't want to get out of my truck (he rode a lot quieter on the inside than he did on the outside!). He would NOT get out. So I took Dalton to daycare and went back home again...I went into the house and got a box and put a towel in it and got some water, some milk and some babyfood meat (the only thing mild enough I had that I figured the cat could handle). I put him down by the food and after attempting to leave several times (he would follow me to the truck), I finally got him interested in the food and I snuck away.
I thought...he won't be there when I get home. Well...he was. And the kids immediately brought him into the house and named him..."Lucky" (if you knew how I drive, you'd understand...). So...mom brought me over a litterbox, some cat litter, some canned food, some dry food and a pooper scooper. I have a cat. This was someone's baby. Here he is lounging on my couch last night, under a blanket and huggung a stuffed purple elephant. *sigh* (sorry but the picture is a little blurry and big...I tried to resize it in photobucket but I guess it didn't work)

Why...yes, I did say that! *guilty grin* I happily informed my husband that he would probably WANT to remain home with his momma (since he is allergic to cats). He'll probably rush back as soon as he can just for the fight! He thrives on having valid reasons to fight. But I will be able to say that I fought with him over p***y!!

Hell if that's what it takes to end up under a blanket with you Moose.......I'm gonna try to get lost tonight in my 1/4 cab! Smart cat, that fella!
Ummmm.......let's see, I think that I'll be lost at about 2AM.....red Freightliner with large hot tub attached. Can you come find me? I'll be purring.

Hmmm...Really...?!?
I don't think I could make it to Indiana before 2 am...
And, if I could, I wouldn't be able to hear you purring over my kids screaming...that's what took me so long to hear the cat in the first place!! My kids have no volume knob...

I'll take it, I just got a new grill, ground up with some venison, I could make a great stew. Uh oh, there go the voices again, I better get back to therapy, next year. OK just box it up with some dry ice and I'll give you an address to send it

Thank you...he's a real sweetie, too!! But he roams during the night and harasses all of us!! He actually hugs (which I like) but licks (which I don't really like...)

I hate to love mean cats...but I still do!! I had a mean one (Riley was mean) but when it was time to pull his weight, he was johnny(cat, giggle)-on-the-spot. I had a rough patch during my last divorce and I got pretty depressed over everything. I would sit in the tub for hours, that's all I wanted to do when I wasn't working. Riley was, in general, an ass but he would sit there in the bathroom the entire time. If I EVER dozed off...he would jump in on my tummy, then jump back out. He was like a mean-ass guardian angel. When I would get out of the tub, he would head back outdoors through the doggie door. I don't even know how he would know when I got in the tub, but within minutes of me getting in, he'd be there!
I got a new respect for animals during that time. I always knew they were empathetic, but I didn't think they "cared". I can thank that cat that I almost didn't love for that...I pinkpuffyheart him so much.
