Yeah, you got that right! It's so damned HARD to get anything done here, everybody is just so damned BUSY! It takes 2 YEARS to get a house built!
It's supposed to be completed in 18 DAYS...I'll believe it when I see it. Then Claude & his cousin still have to wire it...man I KNOW I married that man for a reason!    He's literally a JACK OF ALL TRADES!!!

When does "winter" usually hit, there? If it doesn't get bad until October or so...it looks like you will be sitting pretty. Once they start, they should hit it hard. Especially if htey are so busy, they are not going to want to waste any time. It will be nice!

Mostly we get lucky & the real cold weather (-30's) doesn't come till late December, but we usually get a pretty decent fall. Damn we've had frost already...really sucks, cause my flowers were looking so nice!

EXACTLY, I spent 3 hours & 150$ washing & polishing only to get 50 miles out & hit rain then 150 mile (good old Fox Creek) & hit snow...so much for a clean truck! At least the bugs are pretty much done for the year!

Also, up where you live, you have a much shorter construction season. If they don't get it done this year, it will take a long time before they can finish it. Or work in some pretty cold weather.
I'll bet they get the outside finished in short order, so they can have the heat on and work on the inside in comfort. :)

Not really, we're used to the cold...our guys don't stop working outside until it's below 20 below, so that leaves about 10 months for construction.
LOL Windy, it's not COLD up here yet...we still have daytime temps of around 70F, tho I must admit the nights are starting to cool off...we had frost on Saturday night, but it wasn't a killing frost, just got rid of the bugs, now we'll have a nice fall!
It's likely we won't have heat this winter...not in the conventional sense anyway, probably be using the "Herman Nelson" for this winter. Then next spring we plan on buying a used oil furnace...free heat!

Could use hydrogen and have free heat with no polution... But, then... You'd have to get rid of the used oil...

Can't win can we...so we get rid of the oil...get a small credit from the gov't for using it instead of dumping it, or paying some hefty costs for disposing of it....way better far as I'm concerned!

Yep, we tried to make it big enough to replace the old garage & have room for the trucks.
It's dimensions are 50 x 50 with 18 ft walls. The big door you see on front is 16' high x 24'wide big enough to drive both trucks in side x side, & the side doors are 10 high x 16 wide for the car, pick-up & hubby's '48. Then the last door is for the wash bay...we could have gone just 10 ft bigger it would have been nice, but this was 75,000 so we just couldn't afford to go bigger.

Welcome Dolores, I definitely have been at this a long time, but unfortunately I can't really help in the training department as I am in Canada, but for general trucking advise I'm always happy to answer any questions I can.
Best advise I can give you right now is try to find a reputable company that would be willing to train you. I understand that many of the larger companies have woman trainers now. RebelDarlin & 4forRoses would likely be your best help in that department.

Right now the floor is packed gravel...4 damned loads of it! But yes, we are hoping to get "some" concrete next year. Since to accommodate the weight of the trucks the concrete has to be a minimum of 6" thick, we just couldn't afford the 25,000$ for it this year. But if things go well AFTER we get the furnace...then concrete will be the next item on the adgenda.
