What a handsome boy LNS! Has he got a personality that you can go by?

Mom has a new filly this year & cause she's so small & dainty she called her Princess

And some of the boys are Trojan & Knight. But then she raises Appy's. I was never very good at names...LMAO my cats are Maui (which is Vietnamese for CAT! LOL) & Heidi (German for GIRL)...REAL original eh?

Actually those are cute names!! I really like Maui.

Not sure of his personality, I haven't actually met him yet, and hes had limited handling by anyone else too. He was a couple weeks in that pic, now hes 8 weeks, I've been promised updated pics of him soon!

I never minded waiting to name, cause I like their name to suit their personality if possible...

As for the "girls" Maui is part Siamese & part black torteus (sp?) shell, so she's kind of exotic looking, so it suits her...Heidi...extremely fat black & tan tabby with an attitude...so suits her as well!

Maui the day I got her:

Then at about 3 months:

Now:

Heidi:

Is the foal to be a purchase of yours? He is certainly a handsome boy, maybe something along the lines of his colouring? He would still have his "baby fuzz" , so he will darken somewhat...maybe to a pale sorel?

Actually hes a Red Dun (officially, has the dorsal stripe) His color will be much the same it is now. His mama is a red dun too.
He is bought and paid for, just has to stay with mama till September.
Not too concerned with the barn name, but I'm going to have to send in his registration papers. Needs to have YE at the front, and be 21 characters in total including spaces.
I have a list I've been coming up with, but you see those Little Country trucks running around up here? The owner of that company is a real good friend of mine, Singin Sam he is... hes got cd's out. My latest ideas were to make his day.....

YE SINGIN SAM DUNIT
YE LITTLECOUNTRYDUNIT
(The YE stands for the ranch he was bred at and isnt meant to be a part of the name really, just has to be in there on the papers)

Hes got Dun It in his pedigree so thats where that comes from and his color.
Still thinkin though!

Heres a pic of a grown up Red Dun Paint, looky the stripe on his back at his bum there! Sexyyyyy You can also see the zebra stripes they get on their legs, if you look around the back of his knees on his front legs.

What a gorgeous colour.

I think the SAMDUNNNIT is great. Yeah I know all about the herd names, breed names, etc. Can be a pain when you're trying to come up with a decent name. What's his mother's line? Maybe a combination of the two?

Our herd was of the Rustler Bill line & our herd was Rustler's....We were known as Rustler's Roost! LOL

Anyway, everything is Rustlers Something...sheesh!

Paleface is supposedly what the native Indians called the whitemen, at least in old wester movies. His white face, made me think if it.

Dioch is Welsh for thanks...As in "You took me away from my Mommy, branded my ass and cut my nuts off, Thanks!"

That's ok for a flatlander, BUT if yer ridin in the mountains.... Also MANY horses CAN & DO blow up their bellies & can make that cinch look pretty tight...till ya get on him....but then I would have guessed that you "knew" that already!

In the light of todays society, I have to say I find that name totally offensive!

U have a really nice Ride. I like to keep my back cinch snug also. A rodeo horse can get a hind foot caught in the cinch if hes runnin hard and its too loose. I bet its fun to go riding in those mountains. Im new to this site, so its nice to meet ya. Maggie

Ahhh, I guess for now, I will live vicariously through you since I am in the middle of God-forsaken hell country!

K this thread is like 100 years old but I just saw this.
As Kat suggested, Chewy is indeed a bloater. I have to do his cinch up in stages and suprise him. The back cinch is sagging in no time.
On the other hand, I spent last winter riding with ropers, they do their back cinches up TIGHT.
Cheers
