My 2007 Freightliner 14.0L Detroit/Straight 10 averages right at 6.0 mpg- a mix of tanker, van, and roll-off. Whatever.

On Monday my fuel gauge was buried in the E, but I knew I had enough to do the first of two local stops. So after #1 II filled up. $446. Not bad you say? Well, That was just the left tank- 150 out of 300 gallons usable! I didn't notice until I started the master pump that the satellite nozzle was missing.

My record is 261 gallons for $885. And we're to the point now that if I ran it way low in an expensive fuel zone (even in Texas!) I could have a $1,000 fuel ticket- as much as you can do on our fuel card in a day.

I don't know how O/Os do it lately.

I really can't compare on this one. Our fuel cards have a max of $400 per day. It doesn't take long to run that much fuel out.

I won,t enter this. Our fuel prices would give me an unfair advantage......Hells bells that sounds odd. Our fuel prices normally make us operate with a distinct disadvantage
