dont have to be trucker movies.
The last one I went to with my husband was Borne Ultimatium. It was awesome, and so intense that my palms where sweating. I love the action. Then before that I took the boys to Transformers. So so cool, Im totaly buying it Oct16. It was way intense too I wanted to run right out and sign my boys up from the military " Lets rock n roll". Michael Bay does great job with action.
List your movie and review or comments. Take turns, no don't have to all post at the same time now. Take it easy there is plenty of room for everyone. I m just playin Im not that crazy just wishing it was more crowded in here

Oh hey thanks Shy,
I saw those two but thought they were only for trucker movies. I didn't want to add Transformers to a list of adult men movies. Or Becoming Jane , No I haven't seen that on yet. My husband said he would take me but I was afraid his snorring would get on other movie goers nerves.

My favorite movies are the comedies ...no surprise...huh.
I rarely go to the Cinema, and usually wait for the films to come out in DVD.
My most recent was "Wild Hogs."
with Travolta, Allen, Lawerance, Macy, Liotta,
and HOT cha cha ooo La La hubba hubba Marisa Tomei... http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l236/Leland10/nocontrol.gif
Being a hog and a biker myself...it was close to my heart.
I give it a full 5 light bulbs.

I haven't seen "Ratatouille" yet, but have a feeling I'll like it. I've always loved Pixar films. Haven't seen "The Simpson Movie", "Shrek The Third",
"Pirates of the Carribean: At Worlds End" and "Spiderman 3" , which I am anxious to see.
My local Library (easy 1/2 mile walk from my house) gets these movies around 6 months or so, after they are released to DVD. I can rent them for $1 and keep them 4 days. That's usually how I get the movies I want to see. I am like a year behind everyone else...

The Simpsons Movie was alright. For a $1 I'd rent it but wouldn't waste the money to see it in a theater.
Pirates on the other hand is great that was the first movie I've seen in awhile that was really intertaning.
Ratatouille acording to my sister isn't all that funny.

All three of the Lord of the Rings movies =
That constituted one of my greatest movie watching experiences. We scored tickets to the back to back to back pre-release showing of the third one. So we got to watch the extended version of the 1st one, the extended version of the 2nd one, and then the first showing of the 3rd one, all in the same day and night at a brand-new stadium-seating theatre. :) Talk about epic!
On that note, Peter Jackson was signed a couple of weeks ago to direct the Hobbit in not one, but TWO movies. WHOO HOOO! Can't wait for that!
Other movies I would consider excellent, easily      movies:
Groundhog Day (one of my favorites)
Scrooged
Die Hard
Any of the Star Wars movies (we're big fans)
Independence Day
The Matrix (first one only...the others weren't anywhere near as good)
Mr. Holland's Opus (the one movie guaranteed to make me cry, no matter how many times I've see it, and it's been quite a few.)
Pirates of the Carribean...I loved all three of them.
There are certainly others, too. We are going to see I Am Legend tonight...I have no doubt I'll be ranking that up there with my favorites, too.

You know what was so cool about I Am Legend? No blood, no brutal head-ripping violence. It was just so believable and so well-acted...I've got claw marks in my left arm from where my wife grabbed me an held on. Gore-freaks looking for gallons of blood will probably be disappointed. But this movie scares worse than any other movie I've ever seen, slasher or none, and I don't scare easily.

Yeah, Wife and I went out to see this while I was home- You know it's a remake of Omaga Man(Charlton Heston 1971) right?
I thought it was great---very nice re-work of the book.
But, I'm still looking out for another take on this--something like where he's the Last Man standing--holding up in a penthouse apartment in a skyscraper building----hunts the infected by day and searches for supplies, and has to fight defensively floor by floor (in his building) to hold them off every night. You could have IR sentry machine guns, claymore mines,

The Notebook...
My wife, and I just saw that one.
I also saw it at the theater, with a girl that I dated. I forgotten about the movie. Well, tonight, we went to Wal-Mart to get some things for the house. Of course, somehow, I always make my way through the electronics section. My wife told me that we should get it. As soon as I saw that it was James Garner, I remembered the movie. At first, I couldnt convince my wife that I saw the movie, but forgotten it. I finally told her that I saw it on a date.
Anyhow,.... my wife, and I were both tearing up a box of Kleenex.

tony Stark is a drunk which makes Iron Man great. also Robert Downey JR. is a drunk so he is perfect for it. I think it really looks great.
as for the animated TMNT. I think it was done really well. It was a lot like the first movie. The neat thing about the new one was that it had some actual creators of the turtles involved and Kacey Jones was more true to his character than the guy from "some kind of wonderful" fame acting as the billy bad butt!

Regarding "I Am Legend." I saw it twice in the theatres and picked up the extended version DVD when it came out this week. The extended version has a completely different ending than the theatrical version and that ending completely changes the entire premise of the movie. As much as I loved the movie in the theatres, the alternate ending movie was even better. Definitely up there among my top 3 or 4 favorite movies now.

Unless the dog makes it.... I don't think I could consider buying the DVD... My kids are absolute animal lovers and it broke their little hearts to see that. So tell me does that part change? His cure works on the Samantha?
side note... the movie about my dog named skip ( I think it was) the terrier ..Old yeller... Where the Red fern grows... Sons love anything with a dog in it but when the dogs dies....They HATE the movie and won't watch it again.

Saw that again a couple months ago...wife and I love that movie. I remember years ago Michael Douglas doing and interview about that movie. Remember the scene where they slide down the muddy hill? Animated - The Lion King
I have a feeling that Wall-E is going to score as one of the funniest Pixar movies ever.
Comedy - Born in the USA
Ground Hog Day, Caddyshack, Walk Like A Man
Adventure - Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Arc
Good flick, one of my favorites, too. I loved the LotR movies, too. Can't wait for the Hobbit to come out. The Harry Potter movies are all well-done, too, and extremely enjoyable. Die Hard was a great one, too.
Drama - On the Waterfront
Mr. Holland's Opus, if that could be considered a drama. Fantastic movie.
Romantic Comedy - The Wedding Singer or When Harry Met Sally
Wedding Singer was good, so was 50 First Dates. If you haven't seen the latter, do so. Fun movie.
Romance - African Queen (some of you might not view it as a romance movie)
Never got into sappy for the sake of sappy. Wife isn't into the, either, thankfully. So we look for Romantic Comedies. But the one that stands out in the Romance category was City Of Angels with Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan. If that don't make you bawl, you're heartless.
Sci Fi - Andromeda Strain or Running Man.
Running Man was good. Matrix was excellent. Any of the Star Wars movies are re-watchable over and over again. For the Andromeda Strain, are you talking about the old one or the new 4-hour one that just came out last month? Never saw the first one, but we're halfway through the recent one and it's really good.

I was happily surprised , and ..... Dont call me crazy
It was unique and funny, of course there is one scene I could have lived without seeing. The faces of the inmates was enough, they did not need to go there. But still good.

I still haven't seen "Dark Knight." :P
I wanted to see "Wall-E"...but that slipped by.
(can't believe I allowed myself to miss a 'Toon.)
I finally watched "Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End."

...but you all have seen it...I'm sure.
Our local Library rents DVD's for a buck.
That is usually how I get to see a movie.
...about a year after release.
Watched "Into The Wild."
   :?:
148 minutes long, a film based on a true story.
The only reason I couldn't give it a higher rating, is I was left feeling
how stupid and wasteful this young man was, for such a smart and genuine person.
It had some touching moments and keeps you engaged.
I guess an idealist would reflect some deeper message.
I just left with why do the rich and privileged feel the need to abandon comfort with distorted freedom?
...and why do we need to feel that is a worthy quest?
Well... this movie will have you reflect human conditions and emotions. Good scenery, and interesting characters.

On the advise from a friend I checked out Dune a sci fi classic.
Well it looked vaguely familiar to me, the kids were unimpressed but watched it anyways. They prefer StarWars to it, they used a lot of made up words and definitions it was hard to follow at first even with the outline. It was cool seeing present actors when they were younger. I recognized quite a few.
Dune

I can't say it is going to be one of my fav's.

Well it is foreign that's for sure. I got to see tons of the female anatomy.
Mostly during those seens I just watch my husband. I love to spoil it for him.  Said to be a true story or based on one. Definitely couldn't have been done today, but it was funny, I enjoyed the english accents and the role the ham radio operator played in the whole thing. Roadhog I am sure you will enjoy this and for the rest, I wouldn't watch it with the kiddos.

Not sure who's brain child this was, but a documentary on the San Fransisco Bridge and the people who use it to end their lives.
Morbid. There are enough depressing things in this world then to waste one's time watching depressing movies. I didn't care for it. :?
American Gangster

Ok so I like the two main actors not the characters they play. It was sickening to see all the drug use, and the disgusting man that could help destroy his fellow man and still sit in a pretty suit on Sunday in church. I wanted to make myself vomit.
I enjoyed that they took him down but 15 years was not enough.
Cudos to the cop who busted other dirty cops, it took big ones.

Of course I enjoyed it, It was cute, and light hearted, Jodie Foster has always been a wonderful actor. She could have used some more steamy scenes but it was a kids show so. :D

I loved Hancock because I liked the total package of the movie, the amnesia, the back story of where Hancock came from, its being a somewhat comedic scifi movie and his decision at the end.
When I went to see The X-Files: I Want to Believe, I was one of only 3 people in the theater and we all realized at the same time that what we were seeing of Hancock was NOT a preview but the actual Hancock movie. Being a big X-Phile as well as a fan of Billy Connolly and the other 2 patrons agreed that we paid to see The X-Files and would not be satisfied seeing any other movie so we got it fixed within 5 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed it especially because it was so "crowded" in there (I am very allergic to scented products and had no problem finding a seat where I had no problem with that - my husband's and my enjoyment of Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D was almost aborted 15 minutes into the movie when a crowd of people walked in all wearing loads of perfume/cologne and decided the best place to sit was very close to me - I had already found best place for me prior to their entrance so there was nowhere else for me to go - this is why I will NOT see The Dark Knight before it comes out on DVD, has been being too crowded every showing being sold out or very close to sold out even in middle of day)

Trukrswyfe how long was the version of dune that you saw.? it was released in three different versions. their is ALOT cut out of it in the shorter ones, things like the intro by the printess at the start runs around 4min in the short and 11min in the long version and that extra 7min tells you alot more about the story line.
the copy i have has had ALL the deleted scenes reinstalled and longer versions of some scenes also reinstalled and you would not believe how it changes the story line.
if you rented it you most likely got the short one (has over an hour cut out of it) and it is dam hard to follow what is going on

I got a VHS tape that was all they had, and it really felt like I started the movie in the middle because things weren't explained very well. I have since been told that it was first a book and if I would have read it more of the movie would have made sense. Im sure it was a good movie at the time.
I do like nostalgic things that bring you back to a different time in your life. I for one love, love the smell of an outboard, heavy oil 50/1, Just the smell alone takes me back to being a kids and working at our family Marina. Those were some of the best times of my life as a kid. That and boat wax, My job for every summer was gasing boats and waxing them.

On a movie note, 2 of my children went and auditioned last weekend for the Children of the Corn remake they are doing here in Iowa. If they get parts, I might have to go see that one in the theatre. :D
If anyone has see the original and remembers what Malaki looked like, there was a look-alike there at auditions and they pulled him right out of line and took him inside for screen tests. :)
Lots of hopefuls...they weeded them out by coming out and saying "if you don't know what this movie is about, you need to do some research. If you can't handle blood and gore, killing your parents and other adults, then you need to go." That got rid of quite a few...it was really interesting to see how many people showed up for a movie audition, not knowing what the movie was about.

Seriously, Brandyn has always wanted to get into that industry in one form or another, whether acting or doing voice overs. He's a master at impersonation...can hear a voice and then nail it. And he's a ham through and through.
We've got a YouTube video out from last year where we did the Numa Numa song as a family. If you want to see it, go out to YouTube and search for keywords "kbkreative" or "numa nine". That should pull it up. Brandyn is the obvious one.

Yeah, lip-syncing a Romanian song was a bit of a challenge.
However, if you look closely at the shot where they are all sitting on my car, I screwed up the editing and it's off the sound track. Because it's a long shot, it's impossible to see unless you are looking right at one of the kids. But my daughter won't let me forget it. :)
They are all ours as in, my wife and I have 3 each by previous marriage and the little one is ours. Interestingly enough, we have the Brady Bunch thing going on. A pair of 15's (2 months apart), a pair of 12's (2 days apart), and a pair of 10's (8 months apart), then the 6 year old. Makes life interesting, to be sure.

I liked it. You can all say it " You would". The ending was sappy and dumb though. But the rest of the movie was funny. It's about love that begins as hate. Which in my opinion is the best kind. Trukr even enjoyed this chic flick. Which truly does say something. He actually laughed out load. As so my kids didn't like it. The were confused and outraged in the frist few minutes of the movie. I don't want to spoil it but a basic summary was unmarried childless woman wants to have a child (clock ticking thing). Anyway at the beginning she visits a spermbank and it actually used the word sperm. My 14yearold son stopped the movie because I was cooking and these are his words.
" Mom I think you need to watch this, I don't think it is appropiate for kids"
I didn't know what he meant at first so I said what happened. backed it up. Watched it and I still didn't see what got him so upset. Then he pointed to the word sperm on the screem. " THAT is just wrong!"

That's the way to do it. I like Fandango. I like to know if I can see the movie I intended to see before I get there and find out it's sold out!
I am throwing up a little bit in my mouth right now because my oldest girl is trying to force me to take her to see High School Musical 3 on October 24th...oh, gag! I am so sick of teeny boppers!!
I did get Speed Racer for the kids and it was a llittle weird. I missed The Happening when it was in theaters so that is next on my list...I guess us old folk are groupie-ish, too...I only want to see it because it has Mark Wahlberg in it.....
I have really gotten out of touch with movies lately. I think the last one I went to was "No Country for Old Men" (I think that's the name of it). I kind of have my old stand-by favorites that I love to watch over and over...like Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man and Little Odessa and Four Brothers (did I say Marky Mark???)

Or is it that show where the two main characters get phone calls telling them specific instructions to avoid harm to their family member?
I want the old man to take me to "Fireproof your marriage" starring Kirk Cameron. It's actually a good movie, says the reviews, and has a decent message as aposed to typical Hollywood entertainment.
But we did rent IronMan that came out on video even though we saw it in the theaters. I do say Robert Downey Jr. has come a long way from the Pick up Artist..... Props and cudos to him for working instead of spending time locked up. I wanted to see "Tropic Thunder" just because of his performance. I hear it is an equal opportunity offender. I am tired of PC.
