Twilight Flyer promised us 3 MORE pages to get to the bottom of this, then pulled the plug with ME holding a freshly popped bag of corn!!

I even went to the store and bought CORN FLAKES, just in case I got stuck on the side of the road!

Speaking of photoshop. Has anyone tried out the CS3 yet? Ive been thinking about upgrading my CS2. But not sure if it would be worth the bucks. I guess I should just download the 30 day trial and find out.

Not worth it, and I wouldn't recommend downloading the 30 day trial, as after the trial period, it's really hard to go back to CS2, from what I heard. The program isn't easily uninstalled.

I've heard conflicting reports on CS3. From what I've heard about it, I'm sticking with CS2.

I spent all that time making that picture and then I go to post it and the thread was locked! I wasn't going to let it sit so I had to post it.

Yeah we can move on now.

True, its not like CS2 doesnt do everything that I wouldnt ever want it to do, plus 1000s of other things I havent figured out how to do yet.
Lately Ive been trying to learn the HDR (High Dynamic Range) Imaging feature. Its where you take mulitple exposure all of the same picture from way under exposed to way over exposed and then merge them together into one picture. It creates a really cool effect of all the colors and light that the human eye cant see at once.
You can see examples of HDR photos here,

Dave Hill is famous for this style of photo. You can see his work at http://www.davehillphoto.com/

I find it interesting if done correctly. If it isn't, it is just annoying and hard to look at.

Those are cool. Are those taken with a camera, or did he draw them?

Cool, I like his work. It looks like he uses a combination of HDR photo technique and a few other photoshop tricks. Very original stuff.
You are right, a poorly done HDR photo looks horrible. I prefer the HDR photos that look just a little bit unreal. Nothing to the extreem.
To me this is the perfect HDR photo. Not too weird, just a little of "that just doesnt seem real" effect

They are taken with a camera, and heavily manipulated.
