Without being there and talking to the medical examiner I can only guess at the BP deal.
I would guess that the guy who got sent home had extremely high BP and the one told to come back tomorrow and have it checked was only borderline.
As far as the drug test goes, the person being tested has the right to appeal any testing results. The appeal process is spelled out on the paperwork you get when being drug tested and this is why the original specimen is split into two containers. One is tested and the other is held in case a retest is needed.
When a drug test is given, only the original specimen can be retested. A new specimen can not be used. This is to prevent someone trying to "clean out his system" or otherwise changing the results.
There are some drugs that can cause a false positive and some prescriptions that will show as a type of drug that is tested for because they are in that drug class. Generally speaking, as far as OTC meds are concerned you would have to take a lot for them to show up.

One guy had to leave orientation because his blood pressure was very high.
Another person had high blood pressure and was told to come back the next day for retesting.I would guess either what U-turn already did, or else maybe the guy with really high blood pressure had a really good work history or something, and he was worth extra effort.
That happened to me. My first physical, my BP was so high I should be legally dead, but it had just been a really stressful day up to that point. It was normal the next day, like it always is. I test my BP all the time, and it's fine. Almost borderline, but not quite, and that's good enough for government work.

I was sent home due to high blood presure. If I was already under a doctors care for it I could have stayed. There were others that got to stay due to they had Dr's care already or just needed there Meds adjusted. I offered to go see Dr there they said no.

I may shed a little light on the drug testing thing.
I used to be a collector, and had to go through some classes.
If he tested Positive for Opiate, was it a trace? This could be caused by popy seeds. For there from the same plant.
There are some generic Ibuprophen, whos compounds will make a person come up with traces of opiat also. I have seen a case of this, but cant remember the compound, I want to say Bezoic acid, but then everyone would  considering it is a familiar perservative.
Some stomach medicin's will come up positive for THC. Like Protonix, though it is available by prescription only like nexium, it can cause someone to come up positive for THC. They can distiguish this in the lab, but an onsite text will produce the positive result. Notice most if not all positive's that are not realy positive's will be found in the lab. But for a big trucking company, there are so many fish out there, what the use of waiting for them. They just move to the next joe.
Hope this helps. and some people are realy positive.

one thing about opiats u would have to be a hard core user for them to show up on a drug screen under what is allowed to be in your system under dot rules

You would have to eat lots of poppy seeds to test positive. I eat
everything bagels on a regular base, and it has poppy seed on it, and I never tested positive, even when I ate it right before testing.

True but you can come up with Traces, and some employers will just not deal with ya. Even if the lab says diffrent.
Take for example: Key Energy, which is a pretty good size oil company. On a pre-employment, they have a right to request a field test! If it come's up positive, they can refuse and have, even though I or the company I worked for sent it into the lab. and it came back neg. They still have that right.

I don't know, I've seen ppl test positive for just a small amount of codeine. It can stay in your system for a couple of days.

Thank you.

These are not found in a search of the list of prohibited drugs.

One guy had to leave orientation because his blood pressure was very high.
he was more than likely way over the line and was sent home to go to a Doctor.
Another person had high blood pressure and was told to come back the next day for retesting.
It probably wasnt that high. Just right over the line.
One person failed a drug screen. They SWORE up and down they do not do any sort of drug or drink alcohol and requested to take another urine test.
Yeah, everyone knows that people who use drugs are always truthful.
I would think "I swear, I dont use drugs" would be the most common response to a failed drug test. Followed by:
"I was at a party and I must have breathed it"
And then......
"someone gave me pot laced brownies"
