For the past 4 or 5 days I have been trying to get in touch with someone at CAD that could tell me why my account I have used on here for over a year now was "inactive", after being fed up with little help from anyone I tried to re-register using the name I had been using for the past year and it let me register as if I had never been here before, BUT I lost all my past history, my PMs I never got to read and well, I am just really dissapointed that my account would dissapear like this and the lack of support to figure out why. ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I might be mistaken, but I think before she was Floored and now she registered as floored.

Name is the same as it was before.

I was told by someone at CAD that others had their accounts deleted as well, but I have yet to find any proof of this. I'm not saying its a conspiriacy but I don't understand how this could just happen at random to only a "few" people (myself included). I used to run a message board that used the same software as this and we never lost people at random, if one was to get deleted everyones accounts would have been.

It's annoying. I lost PMs I never got to read, and my post counts. Took a week to get a response on the issue, no help was given in return other than "we are having forum issues", so I gave up and tried to fix it myself which was to re-register. Bleh.

I might be mistaken, but I think before she was Floored and now she registered as floored.

I still maintain that if you look at her older posts you'll see she was Floored with a capital F and now she is floored with a small case f. The difference is very subtle but might be enough to let her register as the same name but with a different capitalization.

As to her real problem, I have no idea what happened and why. I doubt that anyone else here can tell her what happened either. While I am sorry that floored has been inconvenienced, I'm not sure what she wants from us other than to let her vent.

The capital F dosen't matter on user names, I can log in with a capital or without, all forums are like that. Go try and register as FlOOreD. It won't work, because the user name is already taken.

I'm bitching because I'm hoping someone in charge at CAD will read this and try to solve the problem, and maybe have some better help in place to assist users when they have a problem such as is. Not everyone would have figured out how to solve the issue on their own as I did. And if the forum was having problems with people getting deleted a post should be made about it with what the user should do to resolve the problem. My post was directed at CAD not the users (although everyone has a right to read and comment if they wish)

Actually, posts were made several times over when the board glitched a few weeks ago. CAD switched servers and a days worth of posts, log-ins, and PM's were lost. It was posted several times.

Over and above that, there have been ongoing issues as of late with the board, prompting Jeff to consider switching to a different type of messageboard, if he can find one that will convert everything on this board over. That, too, has been posted.

I'm sorry you had issues with your account, but I'm not sure what more you want us to do about it? We have tried to be helpful in this thread and have posted about issues and glitches as they come up. If you are trying to get back your old account stuff, that's out of our hands and likely out of Jeff's hands, too. The board does not run on a daily backup and when a backup is used, it is only as a last resort because so much would be lost when doing it.

Bottom line, it's a messageboard and a free one at that. Jeff pays to maintain it, but you and I and everyone else pays nothing for using it. I hate to be blunt about things, but it seems that you're missing the bigger picture. Sorry for the inconvenience, but accept that issues happen and move on.

 AAAARRRRGH!.....now I need to VENT.
I felt horrible when "floored" pointed out ....how regular members like me are a "CAD" and a "user." I guess I never noticed this about myself. But that is one of the nice things about belonging to this message board. You can learn lots of unvaluable information that takes most Driver's Months, even Days to learn...and you find all your faults and shortcomings, through the learned insights of people who would know.

But...now I am disturbed more than usual. :?

....okay...so why am I paying up the [purple elephant] for every [I'm ignorant] [purple elephant] word on the [brain damaged] list? Am I the ONLY ONE having to send in fines for word violations??
I can understand why I am on a Level 5 Moderator Watch List. Because I like to use subtle inyourendyaho and therefore require greater Moderator time and cleanup. I've noticed you also have been simply erasing my entire posts when I talk about things like ---< EDITED >---.

this is the best board and site for truckdrivers as a whole. the mods dont take this whole thing too seriously and allow their moderating power to get out of hand, also provide for some deviation off topic with in reason. the writings of a wise sage once said, your bs is thrown about quite easily.
as for your whiney concerns. i havent had a problem in years of use within the cad threads or this site as a whole.
dont like it go to that other shty site ending with a net

they did when i started but it wasn't then what it is now but nothing can replace real world experience. one company's sht is another company's gravy.I based one decision off another at orientation/roommate's story of a bad recruiter being rude turned out to workout for me decided the horrible story of a rude dispatcher to be the place for me, worked out for 3/4 years.
