What about live chat on CAD. This may have been suggested before. I did not do a search but took a quick peak at previous topics. I've seen it on other forums so why not here?

Thanks . Anyone from CAD cars to reply. Ive seen it work on other boards. I see alot lot of people posting going back and forth getting off topic quit often. It would get rid of a lot of that kinda stuff.

It's been discussed in the past and CAD has decided not to go with the feature. The logistics of managing it are not something they want to mess with.

Maybe they would reconsider. How long ago was it discussed. A lot of people use this board maybe the increase numbers of users and posts could persuade them :)

You could send CAD a PM and ask It was talked about again some 6 months ago or so. There are several reasons for not wanting it, chief among them being the fact that it would require moderation 24/7 and a chat room being what it is, they would be looking for new moderators every month or so and people came and went and interest waxed and waned. I don't see it happening here, but it never hurts to ask.

Live chat rooms breed contempt and are a security risk. Plus, they eat up tons of server resources and we aren't manned (or womanned) to police the chat rooms.

Would they make hours of service rules for it? Such as 10hrs chatting then you have to take 3hr brake then after a total of 100hrs chatting you have to take a 1 full day brake and it's a $5.00 fine for every hour you go over.

Live chat rooms are a security riskAgreed. the implications just are not worth thinking about.... Imagine the site being closed down and all of us becoming internet vagrants.... Bahhhh.. Perish the thought..
