I don't share much of this stuff... and it this is seen as an advertisement my apologies.. admin can remove it with no ill feelings on my part.
First.. February sucks!
But....
My son was a blood donor.. he did so pretty often before he joined and after.. After he was KIA, My wife got together with the local blood institute and created a blood drive in his name.. I have to sit there like an idiot as my time in the Infantry in Germany killed off my ability to donate (irony?).. but we have done this for a few years, there is a facebook page for information. You do not have to be in the area.. just post that you donated and where and we will do our best to get you a T-shirt from the event (but honestly cannot promise as the shirts go fairly quick if people show up. February 21st is the actual drive at the local Mall here in Ardmore, OK.

We were approached recently by an Afghan vet who noticed Micheal's memorial sign on I-35, he wanted to do something to memorialize my son.. He came up with the idea of a Memorial 5k.. I'm not going to expect many of we broken down old men to go out and run a 5k.. but I thought it was really nice of this veteran to think of a local fallen soldier and get something started from nothing when this mans own hometown has done and continues to do nothing to remember a fallen son.. (yeah sour grapes a bit)
