Default All American/Pilot in Frystown, PA

Just letting everyone know that they're converting that location to a Flying J, complete with a Denny's. Right now, the restaurant is closed and they have virtually NOTHING in the store. So, if you're stopping there for dinner, plan on going somewhere else. The small truckstop across the street still has deli food. So, maybe get some crap to go there and cross the street to park @ the All American/Pilot/Flying J.

This is the one on I-78 at exit 10 in PA.

Go to the Midway at exit 16. Great food, cheap prices and PLENTY of truck parking, even overnight. Frystown All-American was real good till Peelot/hook took over. I will miss that place.

I usually stop at one of em @ x16. The diner has fantastic food. I always loved the food at the All-American. Oh well, others can have Denny's - I avoid that place like the plague. Hell, I'd rather eat McDonald's or Subway - at least the food isn't completely screwed up.

You gots something against Dennys? hehe The grand slam breakfast sounds good until you bite into that mystery meat sausage. I mean, what is that stuff? The last time I did Dennys was at least 10 years ago and I don't miss it.

My wife and I stop at them when there's not much other choice. The last 3 or 4 times, the food was so horrible you couldn't eat it. When we were leaving/paying each time, when they ask how the food was and I explain, their response is ALWAYS the same: "We're sorry. Your total is (insert full amount of the bill here)."

When the "Hook" started putting in Denny's, I'd walk up to the entrance, look at the sign, then turn and walk away. Generally, I tried to make sure someone saw me walk right out of the building, buying nothing. This time of the year, I would often go to the dairy section and get a quart of egg nog, but not many of the Hooks carried it.

They don't have to see you stop and choke down a Big Mac. What they DO have to see is that you take one look at the restaurant, and leave. Eventually, they will get the idea. Making a comment that it's a far cry from an "Iron Skillet" won't hurt either.

I do like the couple of Patriot Farms/Flying J's (former Petro's) that are out there. They pretty much kept the menu from the Iron Skillet's, but have the ability to shower and such (we fuel 99% at Pilot's). Plus, the lot's are huge.

I really hate to hear that they plan on closing the restaurant and put in a Denny's. I usually stop in there when I am in the area. When they first made the change to Pilot, I was assured that they were going to keep the restaurant independent and that Pilot only had the fuel. It seems as though things have changed. I suppose that I will not spend my money at Midway just a few miles east. Midway does have good food, but no showers. It is only a restaurant. I guess they will next target the restaurant in Fort Wayne, IN.

    Fort Wayne, IN????

Pilot has gotten their fingers into the Fort Wayne Truck Stop too???

Guess that means they'll have the girls coming in and working the lot again.

I used to enjoy watching the girls in shorts, ducking under trailers to get away from the cop that was 4 times my diameter...

How long ago did Pilot get into there?????

It was some time last year, if I remember correctly. Pilot took over the fuel, but the rest of the truckstop stayed the same.

I knew we should have "aimed" Bin Laden at Pilot before someone knocked him off.....

I think that Pilot has found a way to get around the anti trust laws by initially going in and getting the fuel concessions and then taking over the rest of the property. I now feel about Denny's the same way I do about all the fast food that Pilot is shoving at their customers. I stopped in a Denny's a couple of days ago and spent the night. The next morning I got up and really didn't want much so I ordered a grilled sandwich and milk. The bill was over $7.00!!!!!!"??? The next time I get an urge for a grilled cheese sandwich I think that I will find a grocery store and buy some cheese and bread and fix my own cheese sandwich.
