    Default Sharp Half Pint Microwave

    Here's the deal...

My company just got me a new truck. 2012 Cascadia. It's got a Tripac apu with an 1800 watt Ingersoll Rand power inverter. I can run my old 800watt (Sharp R-209KK) microwave when the engine is running but it won't start up when the truck engine is off and the apu is running. My coffee pot has no problems with the apu.

A second problem I have is that the people that design trucks have never even taken a ride in one. The cabinets in this truck have an interior width of about 17 1/4" and a door opening of about 16 1/4". The narrowest microwave at wally world is about 17 3/8". I can loosen a few screws and make it work I think but what if the new one won't work off the apu either? I'm used to being able to nuke things without having to switch back and forth between truck power and apu.

Looking around on the internet I found this strange beast.

Amazon.com: Sharp Half Pint Microwave Oven: Kitchen & Dining

Reading the reviews it looks like someone has a warehouse full of these 12 year old microwaves that fill a niche and they're selling them for top $.

Anyone know if they're any good or know of a cheaper microwave that would fit in a 16 1/4" cabinet and power up with just the apu/power inverter?

Edit: The microwave really needs to be about 15" wide because I need to allow for the door of the microwave to open, unless I remove the cabinet door and let the microwave "sit proud" of the cabinet.
