Hobo - you're a resource. Besides being a generally likable guy and funny and all that stuff I'm obligated to say so you won't hate me , you've got a knack for thoroughness that I wish I possess.

Case in point. So I've got a few minutes to kill so I check the forum. Nothing much happening. So I click on "125 users online" to see if there's any threads out there that strike my fancy. (I've done that before and I recommend it - this forum has more depth than you might imagine).

Somebody is viewing this thread and it sounds interesting so I click it.
    Alcohol and OTR... Part Deux!

Damn Hobo! All I read was post #1 and you're on it like some legal eagle dude.

But he's so shy. I'm just trying to draw him out a little bit.

I just lost my entire reply because I dropped my keyboard!

But, the short of it is.... I agree with GMAN. It could go to my head.

I struggle hard enough to maintain respectability on this board. MANY hate me. I do not need, nor can I survive, too many platitudes from those on the left.

I appreciate your "confidence" Michigan... and I apologize for the shortness of this reply. The one I lost was MUCH better!

Why are typing AND holding up the keyboard? Is that some secret typing thing you learned in the Air Force?

Naw.... fact is, I can't read the screen if I sit too close so I sit back about 3-4 feet and hold the keyboard on my lap. Sometimes it slips off and I try to catch it before it hits the floor and.... well.... who knows what function keys I'm hitting??

Funny thing.... this time I didn't actually lose it. SOMEHOW... I opened a new session of Explorer, THIS forum website, and THIS particular post/reply window! [but it was blank.] The old version was apparently hidden behind it. Found it this morning when I woke up.

For the record, I never said you were a good lawyer.
I never said you were a bad lawyer.
I never said you were a lawyer.

What I did say is that you're thorough and I titled the thread "like having a lawyer on the forum". In the thread that I was referring to (and many threads on this forum for that matter), you did the research. While most people, including me, would regurgitate something they heard someone else say, or something they'd heard again and again on Fox [ahem] News, or just something that feels right to them, you were citing FMCSA regs and providing the reg numbers.

It reminded me of how a lawyer would/should argue a case and I don't think there is anything at all wrong with not being lazy. I may not always agree with what you say but I respect the fact that you are not lazy, and frequently back up your opinions with the facts that you used to come to your conclusions. I think that's a good thing.
