A little late here... (hadn't had time to get on)
Glad you are ok, Robertt. That was some bad weather, from what we heard on that day. Glad yall made it. Here in Wichita Falls, our national weather service is through, Norman. I turned on the weather band in the truck at the yard, because we had storms (not near as bad-just some hail, wind) that day. I was following the storms on the weather band.

That last pic that Orange posted... I'm guessing that hopper bottom was in a wheat field, waiting to get loaded. I know how it is.. getting caught in storms on the farm, in the fields, etc. Not good.

Thanks rabbit. It was pretty nasty. Our local news helicopter showed an oil tanker, 40', that had been sitting with 2 other ones at a tank farm southwest of El Reno and the tornado that went through there had picked it up and "carried" it about a mile from where it had been sitting and threw it and a pickup in some trees, no drag marks! They are saying it was an F-4 tornado. If I can find the video I'll post it.

    That's amazing.
We survived the '79 tornado. I don't remember the story word for word, but some time after the tornado, our bank got a phone call from some guy in Kansas. He found one of my dad's checks.

Their is some crazy stuff that goes on with a tornado, and none of it has any rhyme nor reason to it. I've got stories, and I know other people that have stories about what a tornado has or has not done that just goes beyond logic, some such as your Dad's.

I tell ya what. Weird things happen.
Kinda like every time the wind blows, we have fires everywhere. Those power lines start sparking and then half the county is gone..

I think it was the Joplin tornado, a receipt from that area ended up 520 miles away in Indiana. It is said to be the longest distance a tornado has carried a piece of debris, the previous long, 230 miles.

Makes me wonder. They've been predicting super hurricanes for a few years now. Some of the biggest and worst tornadoes on record this year. What's the hurricane season going to be like? Or do I want to know. Living in WI, we dealt with tornadoes. Now, living in FL, we've had a couple of minor waterspouts and funnel clouds, but what do we get after July?
    Destroy the cities...
    and they will rebuild them.
    Destroy the farms...
and grass will grow in the streets of the cities.

Destroy the economy of the blue-collar worker...
and grass will grow in the executive offices.

    The bill has come due.
    ( R E T I R E D , and glad of it)
