Default Oklahoma weather .. Drive slowly...

As some of you know we've had record breaking snow fall in a weeks time ... some areas got 21" last week and another 8" on top of it today .... Here in the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area we got over 22" last week and another 6" today....

North East area of Oklahoma - Big Cabin on hwy 44 had over 200 Trucks that were forced off the road due to the weather .. when they woke up this morning they were all snowed in - in the parking lot.... and up the hwy going N/E to Vinta .. more trucks were stranded on the road ... Then off of hwy N/75 in the Bartlesville area they got over 2ft of snow ... and the trucks are waiting to be dug out of there also .... So if your coming this way .... just be prepared to be slowed down ... the weather will be getting warmer by Sat or Sunday .. possibly 50 degrees .... YIKEEEEEEeeeee ...

here's a site that will give you another idea hopefully ..

    Road Conditions

Be careful .... there's alot of spots on the road a driver can't tell where the pavement ends and the ditch begins ... a few trucks have rolled over.

I can't believe all the snow this year. It is snowing here tonight. Everything is white, but we are not expected to have much accumulation. I know you must be tired of all that snow. I can't wait until summer. Hopefully, we should be over most of this snow in a few more weeks. It is a good think that Big Cabin has a big parking lot.

    Global Warming!

I think we lucked out last night. We had 8-10 inches forecasted, and from what I can tell, we may have gotten 2 inches. Whew! Better than what we had last week. Last week, we had 4 inches of ice underneath 4 inches of snow. Been better off in a pair of ice skates.
I know they been getting hammered up around OK City, and further north. I'm ready for summer myself. Winter is for the birds. Bluh!
Supposed to be back in the 60's by the end of the week. That's more like it.

What sides go good with groundhog, that thing said early spring!!! We had 6 inches of snow last week with 50+ mph winds that made big drifts. Then this week we got 14 to 16 inches of snow with a little less wind.

It was officially -23 here this morning at the mesonet weather site right near my house. -23 Kinda glad they didn't have the roads cleared yet, since the truck would not have started. I don't feel like I lost out that way. OKC weatherman says 60s and maybe 70 next week! Hope I can run hard next week to make up for 2 short ones. Although if its 70 freakin degrees I might would rather be doing something else.

I heard not long ago that Al Gore is now saying that the reason we have having unusually brutal winters is due to global warming.

Global warming or what ? ... I remember as a child- (I'm aging myself now so don't laugh.) ... About 46yrs ago a gardener we had, which he was the orginal 'organic' gardener we knew. We said the day would come that the climiate's would slowly start to change around the world ...the coldest area's would start to become warmer and the warmest area's would start to get colder .... I don't remember where he collect his information back in the 60's ... but I beleive he was on to something !! .... I know here in Oklahoma this week we have broke all of our coldest records ... even past 1923 .... Nowata, Oklahoma was (minus)-31degrees this morning / the North Pole was warmer than Nowata today ... we've recevied more snow in a weeks time than we've ever received on record. ... All I can say is .... brrrrrrrrrr ....... For the first time in my life - I had to pay 2 men to remove the snow from my driveway and sidewalk ... they drove in from Wis. the night before and brough 2 snowblowers .... that was quite a sight to see .... most people in Oklahoma don't own snowblowers ... LOL

I would say those men made out very nicely with this last storm. Back in the 60's they were talking about the beginnings of a new ice age. A couple of decades later they started talking about global warming. I have always felt that what we are seeing is a natural cycle that the earth goes through from time to time. The earth's orbit will change to one degree or another. It is nothing but a natural cycle.

I agree ..... I too beleive this is just a natural cycle .... the only problem is people move to area's that they think will suit their life style ... and surprise ! .... it starts to change over time.

Actually, he has been saying that all along, repeating the concensus of scientists.
Sometimes in the eyes of the layman things dont make sense, but if you know the facts then things become clearer.
Warm air holds more moisture than cold air, that means more precipitation and wilder weather patterns. If we have a cold-spell here, somewhere else theres a warm-spell- just because it is colder than a witch's tit outside your door doesnt mean there is no climate change.
However the term 'Global warming' is maybe a bit easy to mis-understand; Scientists tend to use 'climate change'.

Good lord!! Does this mean that all those brutal winters in the 60's and 70's were caused by global warming too??? Al Gore is such an egg sucking schmuck! He must still be dreaming of being "President"!!

Scientists have been saying that the facts don't support man made global warming. These people have been running a good scam. Al and some of his pseudo scientists have been making a fortune from their lies. They have been called by the scientific community. I saw a program the other day by a guy in Great Britain. He said that if anything, we are heading toward a new ice age. It sounds like history repeating itself from the 60's. Anyone with common sense can see that this has been a scam from the get go. We either have global warming or we don't. Now they are starting to call it "global climate change." Anything to make a buck. Al has seen his fortunes dwindle as his lie is exposed.

OMG Idc how much we are to blame it doesnt matter, but we know things are changing. Show me where Al got rich of of this and why is it praise when a conservative gets rich by telling people, 'no, you cant have that operation' it is praised, but if a democrat does, hes hated??
Gman, BP has very different problems from the rest of the world, they are dependent on the gulf stream to not be as cold as Skandinavia. Oceans temps rise, gulf stream slows or stops, no more warm oceans for britain- mini ice age for northern europe. 99.5% of all scientists agree, the other .5% are paid by polluters to come up with findings that throw doubt in the wheel of action. Cons get so manipulated by the echochamber of conservative media that when the trusth stares them in the face its seen as a liberal bias, lol.
