    Default Seat Belt Extenders

My wife and I run team and recently purchased a plush pillowtop mattress for our Volvo 780's bunk.. that 3" foam mattress was KILLING our backs. After putting the new mattress in we found that the safety net would not reach the buckles. I anticipated the stretch being tight but it's off by about a half an inch or so. My wife's dad is a big guy and uses an extender in his Ford Pickup and suggested we look into some. We borrowed his to experiment but found the male end of our net was too large for the female end of the Ford version (the net buckle size is 1 5/8" while fords female end is 1 1/8"). Well, after calling the Volvo in Oklahoma City where we'd be passing through we were told they were illegal to use per the DOT and they didn't sell them.

I checked in the green book and couldn't find anything about it, nor anything about it on any website.. all I found was that all occupants must be restrained.. nothing about extenders on the belts being illegal.

Does anyone have any insight into this? Maybe I just missed it in there or maybe this guy was wrong... but, if their permitted, any suggestions on where I might pick a set up for our volvo? I searched google and couldn't find any for heavy trucks but I found one site (amongst many) that advertises a "universal fit" extender and am waiting for a response on the size of the female end.

    Thanks

If any of those look about right, you may want to try F-Series Car Seat Belt Extension.

And note the name of the website. That story about the new mattress was nice and all, but come on. Fatty.

Thanks for the link. Looks like the F6 will work.. measures out to be the same. I checked the first 20 links in google and didn't find anything that actually had measurements stated or in image form. Greatly appreciated, bro.

Hey, any time. The initial (pre-edit) reply seemed to indicate that you caught my self-loathing sarcasm there, so hopefully I'm not in trouble with the Mrs. or anything. That would just be terrible.

haha.. no she actually thought it was hilarious.. as did I. We've always enjoyed your brand of humor (Qball and Irish Luck from 'Top Driver Boards' and from our former employer.. I can't change my user name on here to reflect the same name over there and on any of the truckin' boards). I primarly edited my poor grammar and chose to get to the point.. i'm a stickler for my english being that i'm college educated and all.

(not to be taken offense to by those that didn't attend college, of course.)
