Witnessed an idiot today

I stopped at the Pilot in Columbia, SC for a bit today and saw a driver in Schneider truck #56023 hit a parked bobtail while pulling from his parking space. Schneider then checks to see if the guy is in his bobtail. When he finds out he's not, Schneider decides to leave.

So, I called both Schneider and gave all info, but also called the company the driver drives for and reported it. I also wrote down all of the info and put it in the bobtail's door for him, including my phone number.

I hope the &)(^(*) Schneider retard finds his truck shut down by safety in the next hour or so. Retards like that should go to jail for leaving the scene of an accident.

When I called the company the owner of the truck that was hit is leased to and gave them the information, they asked for my name and number in case they needed any more information about the incident. About 10-15 minutes after I called them, the truck's owner called me. He was SOOOO grateful to me for actually going out of my way in making sure that this didn't go unreported. His truck is anything but new, but it's his livelihood. Now, before he can come off of hometime, he has to take his truck in to have a new hood on it. But, at least he got notice about it and wasn't smacked in the face with an even bigger problem after his hometime.

I hope he gets paid for lost wages for his downtime as well. Be even better if the money comes directly from the idiot that hit him and left.

I totally agree and I'm glad you dropped the dime on him. Unless more people stand up and say something about brainless turds like this, things like this will continue to happen. And that goes for all professions - truck drivers, policemen, teachers, presidents....

Couldn't... I was on my way *into* the building when it happened.

The truck's owner is here now. He's calling the police as well. I think he said he'd just gotten home this morning.

The REALLY sad part is the guy was bobtail (the truck that was hit). He was parked roughly 1/2 way back in the space, leaving plenty of room up front for a REAL driver to pull out without destroying his truck.

Also, for any haters out there:

I've hit a truck in a truckstop before. I was pulling from a space and clipped the truck beside me. It was dark, late in the evening, the driver wasn't in the truck I hit and no one saw me. BUT, did I leave? No. What did I do? I walked into the truckstop and had him paged. I then stood at the counter and waited for him to show up. This was a company truck I hit - one of probably 10,000 trucks that fleet has. He was very happy I stayed to let him know, just so it wasn't a shock to his system later on.

I dealt with a completely thankless job for years, donating my time and dealing with farkwads that thought a public messageboard was their sandbox to do anything they wanted. I got pretty tired of wiping noses and azzes and breaking up fights. I never claimed perfection, but I damn sure earned my emnity for posters like you.

As fr as borrowed days that is up to I guess the man in blue, he has yet to speak with me so I can only assume he is sitting on the sidelines watching the games unfold, so far everyone else has seemed to accept my apology and said it was nice to see me back you are the only one as of yet holding out,

Leopards can't change their spots. You want to convince me? I'll check back in a month or so and if you are still unbanned, then I might start to consider the possibility. Your claim that the board has accepted you back means nothing...few posters on the board are generally aware of everything that goes on with trying to deal with problem children. I considered the moderating team on CAD to be pretty lenient, but what you did was so far over the line, you burned your bridge and then blew up the ledges. The typical poster doesn't see that...the mods do. The mods have to deal with it and they are the ones that have to clean up the schiznet.

As I said, I don't give a damn either way that you're back. It's not my board to moderate anymore. But I've been around a really long time on a lot of boards just to throw open my arms to say "welcome back, brother!" to someone that did what you did.

There are days that I wonder why I even bother posting on this board or ANY board. But I also realize there are times I enjoy arguing and asking the real difficult questions of liberals that have no clue how to answer. Ignorance is maddening, but it can also be entertaining. It's like watching the chimpanzees at the zoo.

Thankless job is right, however I will disagree with you concenring the lack of value of the majority of my post. Most were on topic and quite informative to members. I would often open up and give any information that I held with out reserve just as I do daily on the rack. It was not until the end that I grew tird of the B.S sort of like you did being a moderator.

Well if I were going through what he lives daily I may be the same as well, it all depends on the support center you have around you. I am not sure about his but something tells me it is not very strong and he is doing the mjority of it on his own..

I agree that everyone can be judgmental about some things. The things you did on the board brought harsh judgment (well, in terms of the virtual world) down on your head and rightfully so. I understand as well as anyone, what it's like to have to deal with adversity in life. But for Pete's sake, when that happens, take a vacation. I know that misery loves company, but that doesn't make the things you did, right.

But i ask you to try even if you ned to wait a month or so..

As I said, time will tell. Most people know that I don't hold grudges long-term, but I also am not stupid and I don't just pretend things never happened. That's not judgment - that's just being aware.
