I tell ya...here in northwest Texas, we've had either ice or snow on a weekly basis since Christmas. How often does that happen in Texas? It was a dag gum blizzard last night in Lubbock.
    Global Warming is upon us.
Amarillo, and the rest of the panhandle is nasty, from what I've heard.
I've always been told that the only thing between Amarillo and the North Pole is a barb wire fence.

Now now - the proper term is Global Climate Change. It's no longer referred to as Global Warming. I'm pretty sure the planet has been going through climate changes for the past few BILLION years before humans even existed, though

after last weekends song and dance the Gov. of Virgina has already declared a state of emergency for this weekends storm. Expecting up to 18inches plus ice in the Shennandoah Valley. Oh boy......cant wait to drive in it. Or at least park in it.

Seems like I heard someone say something about Global Climate Change on the news the other day. I didn't know what they meant, but now I know. Thanks. I wonder why the change?

Yes, the climate changes all the time. Always has. Here in Texas, it changes sometimes on a daily basis. It could be 75 degrees in the mid-afternoon, and snowing the very next morning.

Yeah, but just imagine all that quivering cameltoe, and proud nipples at Spring Break 2010, because of the chilly weather.

I gotta get down to Corpus Christi.

Tomorrow (Friday) looks to be like a fun day... I unload just north of Baltimore in the morning, then pick up and head for Fairmont, WV. They originally said the storm was supposed to start Friday afternoon. Not now. The storm warnings for Fairmont, Grantsville MD & Baltimore all start at 6am now.

The weird part is that they're calling for more snow in Baltimore than in Grantsville.

    Fairmont: 8-10"
    Grantsville: 10-14"
    Baltimore: 18-24"

I just hope I don't have any problems and can get across I-68 early... After I park the truck, I could care less if we get 4 feet of the crap. I already had the wife pick up beer, cigs and snacks to get us through the weekend.

You guys are lucky, my area just got warned for 28+ inches, closer you get to the mountains the more you will see. Fredericksburg is looking at 24-28 inches.

I was talking with a driver at USA Truck last night. He was on his way to Danville to deliver this morning. He was more than worried about what they're calling for down there.

As long as the power doesn't go out and the satellite gets a good signal on Sunday night, all will be good in the world.

Didn't you hear? The Super Bowl has been cancelled. Instead, all networks will be showing reruns of Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons in an effort to force the populace to get back to the basics and Jerry Lewis will be running a Help Haiti telethon on all trucking messageboards across the nation. You are expected to be in attendance. 'Tis the will of Landrew.

Where in the world did that come from???
    How funny!
For about the first 1, 2, (counting words) 8 words, I thought it was for real. Mainly cause of the bad weather everywhere.

Malaki, I reckon you getting ready for the pottay (party), but make sure you got blankets, food, exrty clothes, to help get through the weekend. I used to drink like a fish, but not when we had a chance for a blizzard.

Now THAT was a fun drive. The roads were pretty much exactly what I was expecting - crap, especially on Cheat Mountain on I-68 in WV. There was a couple of trucks hung up while climbing the hill, cars all over the place in the ditches & median.

Oh well - waiting to unload, then park this b...

My friend, I am such a Trek geek.

Got all the original shows and all the ‘best of’ Next Gen, Borg, Klingon, etc. Got all the movies, 20+ year old factory sealed Next Gen trading cards still going up in value, pewter collectable miniatures, and play Star Trek Online.

Even better, I have a wife that is a Trek fan, too (not to mention a college and NFL football fan). Heck, we both saw the new Trek movie in theatres twice and at least 3 more times since it’s been out on DVD.

Landrew commands it and the will of Landrew must be obeyed.

I'll have to admit that, while composing my reply to Rabbit (which I never posted in an effort to avoid further unsolicited teeth-kicking,) I had to google Landrew. The comments on the site I found spell it LANDRU.... but, what do they or I know?

But, I was intrigued by a short add about "Trekkies dating Trekkies." I think the website was geek2geek.com.

Got a chuckle out of that.

Hey, Twilight: What was the title of the last Trek film you mentioned? I want to know if I missed one. I thought I had seen them all... but, I'm more of a Star Wars fan myself.

Landrew instead of Landru is an inside joke. My brother’s middle name is Andrew and back when we were in high school, he broke his arm and was treated like a king, much to my consternation. We watched that particular episode one day and I turned it into a sarcastic joke with LANDREW as his name in several irate missives to my parents. I've used it ever since...old habits die hard.

But, I was intrigued by a short add about "Trekkies dating Trekkies." I think the website was geek2geek.com.
Yeah, you’re just jealous. Not many guys can boast a prom-queen wife that loves Star Trek, James Bond, the author R.A. Salvatore, Football (she’s more rabid about her teams than me and that’s saying something), Chickenwings, and action films.

Hey, Twilight: What was the title of the last Trek film you mentioned? I want to know if I missed one. I thought I had seen them all... but, I'm more of a Star Wars fan myself.
Last Trek movie was the movie Star Trek last summer, directed by James Abrams, that depicted the beginning of the original crew (Kirk, Spock, Bones, and the rest), fresh out of the Acadamy. Abrams did what no one thought he would be able to do – resurrect Star Trek without p!ssing off old-school trekies and completely opening up a brand new direction and fanbase for the franchise. It didn’t hurt that his entire casting was absolutely perfect. Hands down, it was one of the top movies I’ve ever seen. The sequel is due out in 2012, I believe.

If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and do. If you have seen it, see it again. You don’t have to be a fan to enjoy it.

Love Star Wars, too. Knights of the Old Republic Online is due out next year, I believe, if you’re a gamer. Been watching that one closely, too, and looks like it will be a good one.
