It shows he has very poor judgment, no concern for other people on the road and he has NO business driving ANYTHING

I've been on that curve a bunch of times. It's pretty steep and not marked until your into it. If that guy was going too fast on the ramp he would have had a bunch of trouble and did. He said his brakes failed but if he was going slow enough he should have made it unless he was using the exit for an escape ramp.

This should be posted for that guy running the "dui thread". There are jobs out there for about anyone it seems.

This is why I posted it. I wasn't sure where his thread was. It seems everyone that comes here with a dui can't find a job, but they are out there.

I have a friend who drove for Swift that was hit by a drunk truck driver.
She pulled off onto the shoulder to read the map and he side swiped her.
He went to jail and she got canned.
I've seen impaired drivers swerving down the hwy. and they were not just sleepy drivers either.

Don't ya know they are always out to get the truckers?
I don't know why they mentioned his past DWI's. All that does is get the locals stirred up. They want to know if he was drunk at the time of the crash. The 4 speeding tickets, I can understand. The highway patrol issued him a speeding ticket. How nice is that. They are loading him up in the meat wagon, and the officer says, "Before you go, sign here."

I also believe that his brakes failed. They failed to stop the truck, since he was driving so fast.

Good to hear that everyone was ok.

How do you know they weren't sleepy? Did they have a sign up that read "I'm drunk" or "I'm stoned?" I saw several trucks in front of me swerving around the other day, they must have been impaired also because they didn't appear to be sleepy either. Then again I could only see the back of their trailer so I'm assuming they must have been drunk or stoned............

LOL Bigtruckman.......I retired from booze Mar.31, 1992....but go ahead and bring me a cold one.I'll babysit it for you.
Are you refering to the swift driver who was side swiped by a drunk driver?? If so, she told me and that she was terminated for parking on the shoulder for a nonemergency stop.

I worked in the construction industry before driving.
For years I didn't know I could drive without a few beers in me and at least a six pack in the seat.
I only got 1 DWI and I really should be in prison for all the drunk driving I've done.
An iron worker buddy of mie has done a couple of stints in TDCJ for his boozing and cruzing.

Now here is why I got canned at Swift.....3 preventables they say.
    1. Yes,I bumped a girls front bumper with my tandumns when I was training....maybe 200 in damge. The officer had to be shown by her where I hit her car.
    2. Yes I knocked over a crosswalk sign making a right turn 150 to replace the sign per the sheriff deputy.......my team mate and I were fighting and the AH sent in the accident macro before I could do anything.Nice Guy huh?
    3. I got stuck in a bar ditch and had to be winched out.

jburd, he was asking how you knew I was some Swift driver or did the brewski get in the way of your thought process there? FYI, I do not drive for Swift and do occasionally join in on the anti-Swift rants. Going off your original comment's it sounded like you were simply assuming those drivers were drunk just because they were swerving around. You never said how you actually knew they were drunk, hence my question. You never really clarified how you knew they were drunk, you just threw out some hypothetical's. Of course then you started beating your chest like the CB rambo's wanting to know if I'm gonna come beat your rear. I'd swear your some 12 year old on here by that alone. And no, you didn't offend me because I've never touched alcohol in my entire life. Was just trying to see how you came to your conclusion that they were impaired just because you saw them swerve but it seems my question offended you since you jumped off the deep end on me.

    Unhappy

    Mr. Ford,

    Please accept my apologies.
Since I ran my mouth in public I will ask you this in public.
I thought you were another board member with the name Ford in his user name and drives for Swift. He's actually a nice guy and since I thought you were him I went off
like a jerk.....PO'd at the attack or assumed attack.
Upon further investigation I found out you are not him and vice versa.
I hope he's doing fine in his new driving career and doesn't mess it up.

As for the 12 year old and CB Rambo,I am neither.
Although I did enjoy listening to them at the truck stops.... the Rambos that is.

I no longer drink as I satated in the other post.
Now back to the other drunks.
When you pass and then get passed an alert driver or one who seems to be alert and then you see them swerving from one side to other for several miles and they don't crash.
that indicates to me that they are impaired either by drugs and/or alcohol.
I'm not talking about the occastional swerve as can happen when you spill or drop something either. Be a professional drunk at a younger age sort of helps me indentify them.

The Swift driver thing still has me confused though.
My friend drove for Swift and was not drunk, the driver who hit her did not drive for Swift and his company was not disclosed.

Apology accepted jburd but it wasn't necessary that you needed to apologize to me. Wouldn't have bugged me in the least bit if you hadn't, you proved yourself to be a stand up guy with it though. Stay safe out there.
