    Default 3 truck wreck

Took this video of a 3 truck wreck in Michigan today. Would'nt have wanted to be a team driver sleeping in the sleeper of the blue truck.

ouch, that's nasty. I heard there was a pretty ugly one on I76 in PA. I think around Somerset. Must have gotten slick after I went through. I've been lucky this week to miss the severe weather.

Looks like nobody got hurt so thats good. I agree about the sleeper. That would have been a rude awakening and is why I refuse to drive team. Waking up in the air halfway to the windshield doesn't appeal to me.

the one in pa was at mm 182 in the pike. three trucks and a tour bus. it was on the westbound side but one truck hit the jersey wall so hard that his cab came off the frame and landed in the eastbound lanes. it was shut down from about 3am till i think i heard 8 or 9 am. i heard about it before and did the detour to hagerstown and back up 70 to breezewood.....what a night.

Ah...yes....MIchigan....fond memories of 94 in the winter time. Actually, I am surprised to see any of the police out there. WHen I was running it in the winter, you fended for yourself. Police didn't come out until it quit snowing and the salt / sand shakers were done. One time came down that stretch... topped the hill and on my way down I'm watching Werner do donuts and ended up straight across the westbound lanes! Some good downshifting, jakes, puckered a*s, and a prayer, and I got past him!

A friend of mine came through Michigan yesterday. He said it was pretty treacherous. He mentioned that it was like night and day as soon as he hit the Indiana state line.

What's up with the holiday music Mike, personal touch or was that what was playing on your radio at the time?

Jon, that's why you should always have the safety netting in place if your teaming, won't bounce out the windshield and off the ground for a ground rule double. Dad remember's a team that didn't use the netting at Southland, sleeper guy ended up on the pavement in front of the truck, he was the terminal managers son of all people. Had another that the netting was being used and it saved the sleeper guys life when the truck went down an embankment and slammed into a tree. He was beatup from being jostled around but alive and well.
