    Default CB Radio Ed.

This is probably a question that has been asked, and yes, I have looked around but couldn't find the answer. I have a Connex 4600 Turbo and I love it. I want it to be at its best without sounding like an overmodulated, screaming idiot. It has a variable power knob that supposedly controls the amout of dead key watts you are putting out. My question is, is it better to run it wide open, or cut back? In effect, are higher dead key watts better when not running an external amplifier, or do I keep it set low, as the radio puts out the same amount of power either way? Is my information correct, or was I told something wrong?
