Hi my name is Tim. I just found this forum so thought I would jump in. I am out of Iowa. I am looking to drive again but am having a battle finding something. I've been off the road since the end of June 02. Had a medical issue come up and took medical leave of absence. I am now cleared to drive, have a new medical card and written release from the doctor treating me but the local carrier I was running for now has no trucks available. I have sleep apnea and use a machine but the doc says I'm good to go. I like driving and need to make some money but don't know where to turn now. Any ideas would be most appreciated. I have 5 mo. local and 10 mo otr, mostly regional. I have a clean MVR, no DUI'S. This has gotten discouraging. By the way...thanks for this web site.

when i first discovered this site on the free websites section of the at&t and paynet kiosks,i liked it right away!!i would like to update my "profile"....my name is bill barnett and iam from san rafael,ca and for those who have no idea where that is,its roughly 20 miles north of san francisco, but iam closer to pt.richmond.
no wife or kids and not even a dog...how lucky for me huh? :aktion064: i started polishing trucks back in 1990 in a truck parking lot adjacent to a resturant in gilroy,ca.since i have a strong desire to travel and meet ppl from the net as well as polish trucks across the U.S.,i dont like being cooped up around in the BAY AREA with ppl who are always moving at the speed of light.
my truest friend anywhere on the planet is a lady named Holly who ive known for several years that also is from san rafael,ca and i trust her with my life!! i like shopping at wal mart, taking pictures of nice trucks and breathtaking sunsets or sunrises, fast cars, slow women and good movies.and lastly,i love chatting online and surfin the web for stuff!

Hello All,
My name is Vickie and I am 37 years old, divorced and have two great kids. The oldest is 19 and the youngest is 14. I am currently checking out schools and companies and I have decided to try my hardest to get on with Schneider.
I live in Austin, Texas and like many others have run into a dead end career (office manager).I had a choice to go back to college for 6 or more years (BBA and then masters) or totally change my career. Trucking sounds very challenging to me and a challenge is what I like. Seeing the US from a truck sounds great, but I am a strange one because I love to drive. So I believe trucking and I will do great together. My family, except for my daughter, gives me no support on becoming a trucker but this is my life right?
I love animals mostly horses and some dogs. The lakes and the hill country here in Austin are awesome. I like people and hope to gain a lot of trucker friends (the good ones).
I thank everyone for the great information you gave me in the forums. I stumbled upon this web site and cannot get enough of it. It is a great site. :aktion035:[/colorost_uid2]

Hi, this is brown eyes coming at ya! I just happen to stumble across this forum by accident, but I'm glad that I did. Glad to see a lot of driver's out there that are new to the game.....Soooooo, now I don't feel as bad. I am getting ready to get into the trucking industry but I don't know who to go with as far as a job goes. You hear differnt people say different things about the trucking companies, but you don't know what or who to believe. I have 2 kids and I am currently seeing a trucker and it so nice just to be able to see the world. Everyone be safe and always look out for youself on that lonesome stretch of highway. [/color

Hello everyone I figured that since I have the chance to come here more often than my husband I would get my own name. I go by trckndadsangel my husband goes by trckndad. I am married to a truck driver. We have 2 kids and when the kids are grown I will be out there full time with him. I stumbled accross this site and found it to be a great site. Sure is nice to find a site that is so respectful and safe to read post when the kids are reading over the shoulder. You all be safe out there.
Well, I have been here for a little while and just ran across this post. Figured that I better check in before I get kicked out.![]()
Anywho, I am 46 male, live in Omaha, NE. and drive for WERNER at the moment. Shifting from engineering to truck driving has been an eye opener. My sweetheart could not deal with me being on the road for 3 weeks and home for 2 days, so I am running Pony Express for WERNER.
I love the banter here between drivers and the useful info on other companies. Actively seeking a local run or a dedicated run with another carrier (too many reasons to discuss here though - LOL).
Only been at this since Feb 2003. So any advise that I give should be weighed against my experience. I am glad to see that there are several long time drivers out there willing to advise us.
well.. since i've posted already on several other forums... i guess i should introduce myself here.....my name is steve, i'm 47 years young and i guess you could call me a newbie now that i start with CRST on monday. after 25 years in architecture.......i've come to the conclussion that it's not what i really want to do anymore....i have 3 kids, 2 step-kids, and 2 grandsons.......it's just me and my wife .....the kids are grown and doing their own things....save the youngest who lives with his mother and is headed to college playing baseball.
my wife is a third year law student, i have a BS in computer information systems and am working on my Master's....who knows maybe down the road i'll teach at some junior college or highschool........or maybe just open up a baitshop in the florida panhandle you just never know....
seriously.....the long term plan will be to go full time artist after 5 or 6 years on the road.... i'm into fly fishing.. watercolor landscapes and egg tempera wildlife.
3 years ago....after one of those speed bumps in life.....i came to the realization that what i once held in such high esteem....(the job, climbing that career ladder, success......whatever you call it) really wasn't that important.........now i've parred it down to three simply philosophies...
1. don't sweat the small stuff.....
2. everything's small stuff if it don't do you in.
3. live every day as if it was your last.......you just never know.
see you down the road.....be safe......keep all things in perspective.......and should we have the pleasure of meeting.....lets do coffee..........
pain and heartaches aren't options in this life... misery is a choice.
lets do coffee
Yes let's do coffee
Why is it when I press one for ENGLISH I still can't understand the person on the other end???
Hi everyone. My name is Dave and I'm 37, married, one son, one step son, 3 dogs, 3 cats, from the southside of chicago, house painter most of my life and thinking about a career change. I like Chicago sports...except the Blackhawks, they dont even try to put out a good team, good beer, playing guitar to name a few things. I'm still not 100% sure I"m going to change professions but driving a truck is something I have thought about often, and not just recently but for at least 20 yrs. I do know I want something different.
I'm trying to read as much as possible, learn what I can before making the leap. Anyway, thanks to those responcable for this site. There seems to be quality people here running things as well as visiting.
dave
Oh i forgot, I dont use little smiley faces in my posts.
 will be so upset.
