Hi,
I'm 24, from Missouri, former resident of Ohio, and am currently engaged and thinking about becoming a driver. I'm very much what most people would call a nerd.I'm into electronics, video games, movies, comics, toys, sci fi stuff, etc. I'm really an overgrown kid.
I collect all kinds of things, probably more than I really should. I basically have way too many hobbies to keep up with.
Hola, Amigos!
My name is Jeff and I'm from San Antonio, Texas. I've been a driver for almost 11 years & have over 1.1 million miles of experience, but I'm still learning something new every day and am always glad to help a new driver out whenever I can.
I'm also a writer for OOIDA's LandLine Magazine, and have been doing articles about "do-it-yourself truck maintenance" for over a year now.
As far as hobbies go, I love the outdoors & do a lot of fishing & camping. I also own a Dodge Charger that I have restored myself. I'm an American Indian, and I enjoy Pow-Wows & other activities that pertain to my culture.
While I try to be tactful in how I express my thoughts when asked a question, I'm not always going to tell people what they want to hear. I'm a firm believer in "telling it like it is" when I speak from the wisdom gained through my own experiences.
I have been a Cb Radio Tech and junkie for years! It is how I met my wife and many other interesting people! I have recently had some major health problems which is making it hard for me to work, so I decided to start my shop full time instead of just as a hobby. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

Hi, My name is Joe and I'm an alcho....oops wrong site.![]()
43 in CA. Married my girlfriend 17 years ago and ...she's still my girlfriend. We have a 13 year old princess and I'm tired of the Pier 39 thing. Been there, done that too many times. (My wife was on the commission that built the aquarium there.)
Since I've been married I've had a pretty cushy life and I find I need to put an edge back in my life. I need a challenge to toughen me up a little and I can't think of a better career to do this in.
I was in the mortgage industry for 12 years and got fed up. Looking to relive my youthful ways a little. I hitch hiked from W VA to CA over 20 years ago. Got a lot of rides and lumping work form truckers and now it's time for me to drive.
I love motorcycles and photography.
One of my other life's goals is to ride a motorcycle across country, revisit Schenectady, where I was raised, see some people I haven't seen in 25+ years. Go see my fathers grave in Beckley, ( I didn't go to the burial.) Visit my little bro in Morgantown, and see my step mom in Morehead NC whom I haven't seen since my dad passed away. I figured a trial run on a truck would give me a little better idea of what to expect when I do take the month off and go cross country and earn my Iron Butt certifications.
I've been thinking of a book for several years now entitled "Flip Side". The premise is, go to the wealthiest areas / famous tourist attractions and photograph the homeless and under belly of that society. I also want to make a picture book of the places I went through on my trip across I70 and I 80 en-route to CA. (I crossed about 10 times - coast to coast.) I realize in 20 years, a lot can change due to population expansions and contractions but the black top will be the same.
I want to show my daughter my story.
I'm going to test my mettle as well as push though my self imposed glass ceilings in relation to "what don't kill me, will just make me stronger." Consider the trucking industry as my "new age" way of dealing with my mid life crisis and my personal self awareness / growth program.
Some people join a yoga class or join a commune. Me, I'm gonna join the trucking industry.

My name is Guy, I go by Tillerman, Am retired from the Fire Service of 28yrs. Enjoyed the work and like my intention's to drive (both child-hood dreams) am looking forward to several more years behind the wheel. I retired early from the Dept. of the Navy (Crash/Rescue) One of my most enjoyable details was being the Tillerman on a 100' Aerial Ladder truck. So be the handle... Best of luck to all/Stay Safe

Hi. Female from WV. Just been watching the forums for about a month to get some information on trucking.
Originally I was headed to CR England because of my situation, however a few things went sour and I decided to call someone else first.
Waiting on the Schneider recruiter now to call and do my phone interview.
so.. hi.
My name is John Bratten. I'm new to truck driving, and new to internet forums. Learning a lot these days.
By way of introduction, I'm 49 years old and commercial driving is very much about a way out of mid-life crisis. I simply became fed up with sitting behind a desk under flourescent lights all the time. I should have my CDL in about two weeks, and I'm itchin' to get up and get on the road!
I currently live in Sheridan, Wyoming by way of Eugene, Oregon and Missoula, Montana. I have lived in the western states all of my life, and the West is home to me. I do, however, very much look forward to seeing the rest of our states, especially the north-east.
Interests: #1 - the Word of God. My faith is crucial to my well-being. I'm very interested in meeting other Christian truck drivers who love our Lord. If you are one of us, please drop me a line. My other interest #1: My children (Isabel, age 5 and Benjamin, age 4). I'm divorced and my young 'uns live with their mother in Michigan. I'm hoping that my career change will give me a way to see them more often. Interests #2 thru 5: Spending time outdoors, reading, dogs, and horses.
Perhaps we'll meet on the road. In the meantime, blessings on ya'.
Yours, Izzy'sDad

Hi y'all, my name is Brian and I'm from Salem, Oregon. I am 39 with a
Norwegian wife and 3 kids. I began my trucking career with Schneider National in April of 2005 where they also trained me. Got into trucking cause my old job tinting windows just wasn't paying the bills. Am getting on with Marten Transport in 3 days cause they pay better and want to add reefer hauling to my resume lol.
Nice to meet everyone. 8)
Hi to everybody......Enjoy reading the boards. I'm 53 years old & drove from '76 to '86. 9 of those years was with UPS. Forced to quit because of cancer. Began driving again in '97 to present. I have a federal vision waiver which allows me to have a CDL & drive interstate.. I have only one eye. There are no restrictions except that I can't enter Canada or Mexico or have a passenger endorsement (for bus driving). Have driven tanker since 2001. Looking to return to local now; probably dump trucking.
Like others, I stumbled across this site looking for info on my new pete..I live north of you close to the Toyota plant in Princeton In. I run to the Northwest three weeks a month, just got married a little over a year ago so now I have a honey do list when I get home..no dogs to wake up the driver beside me trying to sleep, boy and daughter are in their thirties. That puts me in my fifties I guessI try to keep life simple and look for what can make people smile, life is much to short to be caught up in all the negitive stress in the world. My pet peave is drivers that can't back up equipted with those loud back up beepers...beep...beeep..beeeep...beeeep..over and over again.. Only a dead man can sleep thru that

My name is Dale from Canyon Lake, Texas. Three kids and a wife. Same Crappy job for 10 years. I currently drive about 3000 miles a month. More than half of that is commute I have always wanted to drive a truck but never pursued it. I found this site looking for a trucking forum and well here I am. Now if I could just make up my mind as to were I want to train at Ill be alot less stressed. Thanks for a great forum.
Hi My name is Sue Just aquired my CDL still awating Mentor may go with another company for road training soon. Really can't stand just setting around. Female 45 Main hobby is Trap shooting and love driving eventually will want to team drive.
Hi to everyone,
Found this site seeking info on trucking company comparisons. I'm 52, been self employed for the last 25 years, but I finally had to close my tv-computer shop. I have always enjoyed driving and now I am hauling freight for Schneider. Counting their Boot Camp...I have been with Schneider for 6 months. This is a great forum for exchanging and sharing information... I am finding that Fishermen have nothing on Truckers when it comes to storytelling or embelishing the truth just a little..![]()

Hi to y'all,
New to the site just killing time in the hotel only been driving for three months for the Army its not bad they put me up in a hotel every night. But I'm on the road 3-9 month's straight. I have a new respect for truckers since getting my CDL. So far I have learned that the bridge heights in NYC lie because my truck is 13' 4" and i had to go under 12' 9" and had plenty of room. See you all out on the road but not at weigh stations I don't have to stop at them.
