These liberals went after Sarah Palin like a pack of wild dogs over a bone. She isn't the only one. I have seen liberals go after other conservative women. If a woman wants to stay home and raise the children she is chastised by the feminists. I think that the feminist or women's movement has done more to destroy our families than any other single event in modern history.

OMGosh... you are blaming the world problems first on Liberals, then Muslims, and now women....

It is hard to debate and bring light into such a tunnel.

Gman, you didn't hit a nerve. You just created a huge head shake in disbelief. While my shoulders are broad (pun intended) , I do not carry the burden on the change of the family structure because I am female. Let me try to join in and be all goofy and tell a story of how men, through technology, created this mess with his need for "things" for fun and amusement, such as cable, dish, fiber optics, ect..... Societies, beginning with the USofA wanted to behold each and every "thing" so they set out and borrowed. Credit was easy. And of course, you had to have a suitable house to "behold" these things, so you borrowed some more. Perhaps a second house on or near water so that we could have more "things". BUT, the female will have to go out and forage for mortgage and credit card payments so that Jr. can have all the things everyone else has.

Hence, the breakdown of values and family structures is because of men

Much of what you noted can be traced back to the women's movement and the breakdown of the family. They are related. We have a number of problems in this country. Our primary problem is one of moral decay. Most of our problems could be solved by once again becoming a nation of Christian faith. With women entering the work force there was no one to care, nurture and teach the children. We now see children who are disrespectful and many can't even read and write, even with a high school diploma. Colleges are having to offer remedial courses just to get the children up to an acceptable level. Parents used to be involved in their children's education. They knew the teachers and what was going on with their children. It was usually the mothers who help the children with their homework. It was the mothers who greeted the children when they came home from school and talked about their day. It was often the mothers who disciplined the children, at least until dad got home. When mothers work outside of the home they cannot be there for their children.

Look, I am not condemning women for working. In some cases it was necessary just to make ends meet. Sometimes, the husband is not in the picture. And that is another story. But my question is "What about the children?" It is our children who have been forgotten. The women's movement tried to convince women that they could have it all. They could have children, a marriage and work outside the home. In fact, they were later told that they didn't need men to be fulfilled. They could do everything all by themselves. No one can do everything and do it well. Something will suffer. When one or both parents are missing from the children's lives they grow up with a somewhat distorted view of the world. Each parent brings something unique to a child's life. I know women who feel guilty and are extremely unhappy because they cannot have it all. Men can't have it all, either. I think that next to GOD our families are the most important thing we have in this life. Without a solid family structure children turn to gangs and drugs. One thing our ancestors had going for them was pragmatism. They were very pragmatic about their lives.

OMGosh! Now it is the women's fault of illiteracy! I blame men again... Like Jerry Lee Lewis!!!

I think either gender could help with homework, or greet the children at the door. I know quite a few happy, functional homes with "stay at home" dads. Your view here seems to have foundation only on sexist ideals.

What I got out of the feminist movement are opportunities.

Well, I wasn't talking about genetics.

I agree that either parent could help with homework. I still think that especially during the early years of development women seem to do a better job than men. Dads and moms bring different perspectives into the relationship. As children grow older then there are things they can teach them better than women, such as how to play football.

What I got out of the feminist movement are opportunities.
There were always opportunities. We make our own opportunities, regardless of gender. There was some disparity concerning wages before the women's movement. Some of that had to do with the type of job the women were doing. Not all women entered the workforce as a career. When they got pregnant they may not continue to work. Employers took that into consideration when it came to hiring and promotions. That is not always true today. Many women have babies and then go back to work and leave the rearing to daycare or the grandparents.

I think to a point you are right, some of the fault is laid at the woman's feet for this!!!
Ya both mother and father did help, but dad was at work and not there for the welcoming when the children got home. I see no sexist ideals from gmans post!!!
I do not think you are out of the FEMINIST movement yet. I do believe from your posts, gman HAS STRUCK A NERVE...period!!!! This is just my opinion of coarse!
Women had quite a big job back then, for the life of me cant figure out why they did not want it anymore. They were helping to shape the world we live in by giving our children what they needed to become moral adults!!! I for 1 think this was a very important job...like it or not...oh well??????

I remember my Dad getting all the discipline duties. "Just wait until your Father gets home!"
I use to hate my Dad's guts, because he got stuck with all the "character building."
Actually, I had it worse than most boy's. My Dad was a Gunny Jarhead. I went through 18 years of bootcamp. I was 10 or 12 before he figured out I was faking crying when he spanked me.

I was 13 when he was standing over me, barking "why are you still living here?" While I was doing 50 knuckle push-ups in the middle of the night with pouring rain, I remember screaming back... "because I have no where else to go!"

But my Mom bless her heart did all the crying for me, and probably gave my Dad less sex.

Nope. Your opinion is way wrong. I certainly don't need any label to place value on who I am, thus no personal effect by Gman's comment or your opinion.

What I am amazed at is the narrow mindedness (stereotypical) of the posts. Then perhaps we were at a better time when men banged their rocks together and made fire.

Those were the good 'ol days.
But now here in N.Michigan, it's the wimmin who drag the men back to their cave, and make them do things. You can thank feminism and sasquatch DNA for that too.

You know? It is ONLY my superior knowledge of the English language, and how some misuse it, that allowed me to understand THIS particular tirade of yours, especially without proper punctuation..... but, I REALLY want you to give me some specific examples of how LIBERALS have created all the problems in the World.

Please start with an explanation of how the Liberals were responsible for the massacres in Rwanda. Then, an explanation of how Liberals were responsible for the Bubonic plague you're so fond of. How about Ghengis Khan and the Mongolian Horde? Was a LIBERAL responsible for the Japanese imperialistic efforts?

How is it a Liberal's fault that so many African leaders butcher their own people to gain POWER for themselves? POWER is a "Conservative" concern!

Give me ONE friggin example, that HISTORY will validate, that a Liberal caused all the World's problems.... or SHUT THE FOCK UP!!!

I believe in FREE SPEECH.... but YOU are about to get on my last nerve!

I don't even READ your tirades anymore, because they are too lengthy, use the SAME "catch phrases" and are all about BLAME and nothing about discussing solutions. You are a waste of cyberspace!

You, l'm sure, cannot fathom how the military might MISS the warning signs from this Hassan guy... the shooter of Ft. Hood. But, you are so BLIND that you cannot see that YOU would have... should have.... produced the SAME "red flags" if YOU were in such a situation. YOU.... whoever you are.... are as much an "extremist" as Hassan is.

Just for my own files.... ARE you a citizen of the U.S? ARE you a VETERAN? Have YOU served this great country in times of war OR PEACE? Did some MUSLIM kill a member of your family.... or, F#ck one of them? Cuz... you sure seem to have it IN for them!

And, do you even DRIVE a truck?
Remember... friends are few and far between.

    Golfhobo,

I can't help but to think if I had spent more time in college paying attention rather then trying to get laid and/or stoned, I too would have the same command of the English language as you do. oh well hindsight is 20/20 and I really did enjoy my youth.
I for one enjoy reading you're post/responses as they are always very imformative and extremely knowledgeable.

You know, I'm not going to edit your post, Hobo. But you were waaay over the line on quite a few of your rant points. You want to argue topics, argue topics. But when you go out of your way to insult 95% of the people on this board because they happen to believe differently than you do, that's an issue.

Read back through the posts and everyone on here is having a spirited discussion on the actual topic points. They don't agree, but aren't going out of their way to b@stardize those that don't disagree with them. That's what this messageboard is for and I would highly suggest you "get that." The occassional low blow is no big deal. But when you ring up 8 or 9 pages of absolutely hate-speak, you don't need to be here.

My tolerance level for the hostility is practically zero. Do it again and you'll get a nice long time out.

    With all due respect Twilight,
I think Gladhand has dropped a little more then a few low blows.. He has even gone as far to infer that he would enjoy seeing a whole race/religion/population of our earth be exterminated.. for what??? what they have believed in since their inception??? Just because there is a group of Fundlementalist who take the belief's one step further regardless of the psudeo knowledge Gladhand carries of the Islamic "RELIGION".
He has attacked as well because others believe differently. The majority does not "ALWAYS" rule, There comes a time when bottons get pushed and something needs to be said, a lot has gone on in this post before Hobo came out with his last reaction and in my Psudeo PC Liberal mind-set I am so glad he did.

Roadhog and myself have resorted to PM'S brought about by his actions and we have come to a general understanding of agree to disagree but to be respectful, I actually have a new found respect for him. On the other side though Glad hand has not been able to show any sort of this type of adult behavior he continues to attack, and in my "OPINION" shows just what type of child he is by stating all his knowledge and hatred for another group of people but refrains from answering my stupid little question of how he will contain or control the Islamic Relgion, as we all know his post stop short of saying he wants to extermintate "ALL" of them, that makes him no better then Hitler and many other wannabe dictators who have walked our Earth. Oh yea, I would sure be proud to associate myself with humans like that? Thank GOD he has no chance of running our country..

My liberal talk does not mean I wish terrorist activity to create harm in our country, nor do I hold any sorrow for those who create terror. None the less this is life and harm has come to each and every person who has and who will walk this earth in one form or another. That is the cycle of life and no one has the power to stop or control it. The sad part about all of this is once again it rolls back to Organized Religion...
History will continue to repeat itself until the last days of our earth..

    Timberwolf,

I don’t agree with 90% of what either one of you are saying. I think Gladhand is waaay too caught up in his studies and I think you are waaay too liberal in your views. Both of you are on absolutely polar opposite sides of this issue and in my opinion, both of you are more wrong than right. As far as this post goes, both of you have taken the occasional shot at each other and since neither of you are crying foul, we let it slide.

What I have an issue with is Hobo’s hatespeak and his grouping every single conservative, republican, and Christian into a garbage heap of insults just because he doesn’t like them. He comes on with his all-encompassing and self-serving rant against anyone and everyone that disagrees with his viewpoints. You want to be a liberal, fine. You want to espouse your liberal viewpoints, fine. But I’m damn sick and tired of getting complaint PM’s and e-mails from people that are offended and fed up with him and that’s a long list of people. Several long-time posters on this board have left as a direct result of his actions. The next person that will be leaving because of those actions will be him.

This is not a difficult concept. When you can accept that people have different viewpoints than you, perhaps even radically so, then you can be a part of a solid community. If all you can do is insult everyone that just happens to believe differently, then perhaps it’s time to chuck your laptop out the window or at least stick to Mine Sweeper and Solitaire until you develop the social skills to co-exist on a messageboard.

Some people seem to think that “hey, it’s just a messageboard, I can let it all hang out and do whatever I want.” However, they need to realize that it’s a community, just like any other. It has rules, it has lines that should not be crossed, and decorum is expected most of the time. Some of us have no issues separating the two and not giving a crap what others think of us. That being said, there are some that wear their hearts on their sleeves and the incessant insulting and belittling takes its toll on them. Many times, they drop me a PM or an e-mail or they use the reporting option on the websites. Others just get fed up and leave and the board looses a little bit of its luster.

I’m tired of people leaving because of one person. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what is going to happen if it doesn’t stop.
