    Default Cost Tracking Software

    Hello,
I am a new driver just starting out as a company driver and would like to track the expenses of the truck. I was wondering what software I could use to track all expenses, repairs fuel and anything related to doing business as a owner operator (to the extent that I can, not being able to see all reciets)so I can determine if later on if it would be cost effective to buy a truck. I would like to nail down operating expenses as much as possiable. What software will allow me to collect this data then break items out for reports. I understand expenses can vary greatly but would like to try to nail down the cost of doing business to the extent that I can.

    Thanks,

The cheapest thing, other than pen and paper, is to set something up on a spreadsheet. If you want industry specific software, there are there are a number on the market. Three that I am familiar are Trucknpro (www.foglinesoftware.com), Easy Trucking (www.easytrucking.com) and Truckers Helper (www.truckershelper.com). I believe all three have demo's on line or a free trial period which you can use. OOIDA also has a spreadsheet on their website that you can download.
