That's just dumb! Plumb stupid. I understand that older folks hire others to help with their yard. I took care of my granddad's yard when he was alive. I take care of my parents' yard. If Mrs Pickens aint satisfied, maybe she needs to get a pair of gloves and do it herself, like any other healthy American.

Yeah, ole T Boone Pickens is somethin else! I imagine his wife is pretty high falooten. He's only been married about a half a dozen times. He's got more money than he'll ever spend. Here I am, workin like a mule, trying to keep my head out of the water.

It's funny...folks that are filthy rich. It's amazing how they forgot what it's like to bend to make ends meet.

The Gaylords bought their 2,815-square-foot home in 1995 for $2,850,000, according to property records.

I don't care where the house is, or what it looks like, that's just ignorant. That much for a 2815 square foot home. My house is 2000 square foot, and I paid $70,000(appraised at $90,000). I bought mine this year. I was fortunate to get it when the housing market went to pot.

I have been thinking recently that I have been spending too much time on the forum, of late. It is a little too easy to switch from looking for loads and doing other things on my computer to the forum. I will be home until next week. There are a number of things that I need to do between now and then like mow the lawn and fix the a/c.

Yeah.... and I've been meaning to SUE you over the SIZE of those pot plants! They're obstructing my view of the "wash" out back! I USED to could see "all the way" down the wash to that pile of rusted 1940's automobile bodies!

I was making a "play" on the article in this thread.... about how you're "landscaping" is obstructing my PRISTINE view of the Texas landscape.

Nevermind...... it was funny to ME!

    I knew you would!

I was looking at the weather thingie in your sigline. "visibility...10 miles."

What happened? Something get in the way?

Seriously.... I know I've ragged on Texas alot on here but, it does have it's form of beauty. Was watching some movie the other night that was "set" in Texas. Showed a guy's ranch all alone out on a plain, as the sun was setting. The sky was totally ABLAZE! Gotta tell ya.... Montana has a lot of competition for that "Big Sky" title!

I know very well the peaceful feeling of being surrounded by nothing but silent burning sky punctuated by the methodic wail of a lone windmill (the REAL kind, not these new behemoths!)

If you have the carefree laughter of young children to top it off.... you are truly blessed.

Even the weather man on the local news always says the visibility is 10 miles when the sun is shining. It makes me wonder where he's at.

I think 10 miles is about the point where the curvature of the Earth takes over and the REAL distance is inquantifiable.

I think they should replace the "10 miles" with..... "Oklahoma!"

Or.... "keep walkin'.... I'll let you know!"
