    Default Another bad day

This guy got fuel, pulled up, went in and was standing at the fuel desk, truck took off, jumped the curb, crashed through the fence and rolled down the hill until it hit a tree, they were holding it with the wrecker until they can cut the trees down and pull it out forward, it was too steep to pull it back up the hill

That would suggest the brakes were not properly set. Maybe just pulled the "trolley bar" down and left it at that. Popping the buttons, it shouldn't have moved unless the adjustments were that far out.

Where did the wreck happen? From the area code it must have been somewhere in east or middle Tennessee.

Maybe he just plain forgot to pull the yellow knob or pull the trolley.
If you can't shift it smoothly, you shouldn't be driving it.

AHH, I got a stupid question. Why would someone use the trolly bar to park with? Or is the fact that he did use it to park be the stupid part?

    Who knows?

    Some drivers do things different.

The trouble with using the trolley to apply the trailer brakes is that sometimes the "friction lock" on the trolley valve isn't strong enough to hold the lever in the applied position, and the trolley can unexpectedly "pop off" while unattended.

A loss of air pressure could cause the trailer brakes to not hold properly, up until the point when the air pressure gets low enough to make the red & yellow knobs pop out & apply the spring brakes.

I always just pull the yellow knob if I'm getting out of a truck.

On most trucks nowadays with the combination dashboard valves, pulling the yellow (tractor) knob also pops the red (trailer) valve at the same time.

Drivers are dumb enough to just use the "trolly bar" or.."Johnnie Bar", to park...that Miller Transporters removes them from every truck that they buy or that leases into the company.

They don't want you cheap O/O's from only using their trailer brakes to stop. Again don't ask how I know.

All I can say is you should never rely on the trolley bar for parking, no matter how many times it has worked before......
