Back in the day....IF I was to want to show impressive productivity numbers instead of haul legal...I could stuff one of the 8-axle jobbies in WA with 12,600. And still pull the hills around Seattle!!

IF you go to driving one of them there hawgs.....get Wildkat to come up and teach you to back it up....I just know she can do it real good!!!

Be kewl Gary...DO NOT FEED THE BEARS!!!! Especially from the back porch!!
LOL Stan...matter of fact I DO know how to back those things up! When I first went back to hauling just ONE trailer I was kinda concerned that I forgotten how to back up just ONE...it took a few tries but I finally remembered how to get it done!

I know the weight limits in Alaska are very similar to ours...so the Super B pictured would gross out at about 135,000 LBS, we used to be able to haul 50,000 litres in our B's, so that would be roughly 13,000 gallons, I don't think you can even get that into one trailer can you?

WK.......Back when I hauled fuel, I did so in the Puget Sound region. We had 4 axle trucks, pulling 4 axle trailers. On the truck, we could stuff it to the sensors with 5,100 gallons, and the trailer, we could stuff with 7,600 gallons....depending on the outside temperature. At 50 degrees F, we could do a good job of stuffing!

Made our productivity look awesome, and you know how them college kids are about productivity....right??

Never did get an over-weight ticket...but then..we always drove around the scales....IF they were open...back then.

Going great Stanley! Houseboy is done with yardwork for the day and will be headed out to the Lowe River this evening for some rafting. All in a days work for a former coolie carrier driver!

Speaking of which.........I was outside of Valdez yesterday and saw two Carlile trucks sitting together with a couple of (drivers) hanging out. I stopped and asked if they minded me shooting a couple of pics for my brother who is a mega Ice Road Truckers fan. I told them about my history as a coolie carrier/tanker driver and we shared a few laughs and then they took this cool pic of this handsome fellow. As I was departing this (driver) [so I thought anyways] handed me his business card (after I had produced my Alaska CDL) and told me to call him personally if I was interested in driving up here. His business card read: Harry McDonald, Carlile Transportation Systems, Chief Executive Officer.

Heh heh. The die has been cast! Looks like it might be time for me to teach a few more lessons?

    Yes, Captain Morgan rules!!!

Above ground section of the pipline near Valdez.

Isn't the entire pipeline above ground?

Actually it runs about half and half Creek. 400 miles above, and 400 miles below ground. Pipeline is only above ground over perma-frost areas.

There's your education for today Creek! Would you like to hear some of my thoughts on coolie carriers?

Plenty Dad! LOL Where do I start? Hmmmmm.....a few thoughts maybe.....

I have seen Yogi and Boo Boo several times walking across the Richardson. Bullwinkle and his buddies hang out a couple of miles
down the road in a marsh. I do see what you have been telling me about the bears, Stan. Yogi and Boo Boo are to be taken quite seriously up here. I keep hearing reports of them showing up in town. My antennae are definitely deployed and on full alert.

Here ya go Stanley..........6 weeks work on the Slope with a Class A CDL/HAZMAT/TWIC Card????????? As a jobber. Wanna guess how much that gig would have paid me? Ummm quite a damn bit of moolah! Heh heh! Well this former coolie could have "cooled" my heels for the rest of the year for that one. Still don't have my HAZMAT cleared on my AK CDL though. I'm told that these opps come along quite frequently here. Fortunately for me, I don't need the money right now....................so...............here is what I have been doing for the past couple of days. Oh! Before I show you these pics Stan. It has occurred to me that for someone that likes to overuse the "hobo" moniker.......I sure as hell have become a prolific one myself!

Yeah.......I think I'm doin OK Dad. Thanks for checking on me.

My very first cast into the Sound..........and!!!!! Yes!!!!!!! I finally captured Golfhobo!!! Line 5! Wadda ya think Rev? LOL

Who needs a pole when you can just reach down and grab 'em out of the water? Heh heh!
