Default What job would you rather do?????

Lets just say, humor me if you will, lets just say you had a choice of one of two jobs. Either become a crab fisherman like on "Deadliest Catch" or....become an "Ice Road Trucker" up in Alaska. Both pay super good, I'm sure most of us have a ballpark figure for both jobs on how much they pay, both jobs being seasonal. Me personally I would have to choose the Ice Road Trucker for a couple reasons, 1. I absolutely hate the ocean, I dont like the smells, the animals in it, the weather. 2. I get sea sick real easy! 3. Your in the middle of nowhere in the Bering Sea, all you get to see is the guys you work with, at least with Ice Road Trucking I might get to see "Lisa" the new Ice Road Trucker in Alaska. So thats most of my reasons, besides I really love driving and I figure if you can drive up there in those conditions you can drive anywhere.
I'll gladly pay u tuesday for a hamburger today.

I already know what my next full time occupation is going to be: A full time retiree living on my trawler in the Caribbean.... Living on the hook is free, the rum is cheap, the weather is warm and ocean breezes are nice, the fishing is good.....and live is easy!!

Don't bother me about hurricanes.... you have a weeks notice to batten down and stock up on rum!!
Forrest Gump was right....and some people literally strive to prove it.....everyday. Strive not to be one of "them".... And "lemmings" are a dime a dozen!

Remember: The "truth WILL set you free"! If it doesn't "set you free"....."it will trap you in the cesspool of your own design".

They lost my original "avatar"....oh well.

I'd try both if you can put it in writing that I won't drown. I don't want to drown or burn to death.

i absolutely hate cold air, cold water, being out in the cold, and being cold. that's a difficult choice, wimpy. since i hate fishing, i'll go with the ice road trucking. i'll get my american BBR badge for sure! especially for mixing it up with the canadians. i'd go to a truck stop somewhere in anywhere america, hear some dudes talking about their wild time through wyoming, and i'll put them to shame with my tales of ice road truckin'.

So you would choose ice road trucking over fishing because you hate the ocean? Just where do you think you are going to be when the ice breaks under your truck? What do you think the ice is on top of, the New Jersey Turnpike?
And as far as seeing Lisa, It is -40 degrees there. If you do see her outside of her truck she will be covered up in 75 lbs worth of sweaters and parkas and you couldn't tell the difference between her and that broad from the repo show.

Since I did the Haul road for the military from 89-92.....I'll stick with what I know, but my dream job is running my own business building Halloween and Christmas Decorations.

Same here! I aint interested in driving in no ice. No sir, not me.

I'd like to go Salt water fishing one time, just to see how it feels to reel in something that is big enough to even bite me!

*edit* - I had to put a space in Salt water because the profanity filter but * in salt water. Weird.

My ex-husband did the Bering Sea/commercial fishing gig for a few seasons. I really would love to try it for a couple of seasons, but then... maybe not
