I never watched the first two seasons and when I noticed that the History channel had an Ice Road Trucker marathon, I set my Tivo to record it. Now I have about 22 hours of recording from Season 1 and 2. I want to watch the season 3 premiere after I complete 1 & 2, so I need to watch this while I have all this time on my hands!
So far what I have seen is pretty interesting! They sure do have a lot of Hollywood drama, but it is interesting to watch these big rigs on the Ice. From what I see on TV, they must have different log rules in Canada. These guys are talking about running for 26 hours straight before they hit the sleeper......
a bunch of dudes are already getting hard-ons for lisa. i think she's all looks and nothing more. she's quoted as being accident prone. i don't care how pretty she is. i wouldn't want to be in the truck or near her when/if something bad happens.
Season 1 was "mostly" on private road, I think the mines own it.
Season 2 was on government road, but your not allowed to stop on the ice.
Nobody is checking logs up there, season 1 they hauled drums of fuel in van trailers up the Mackenzie's winter road and I know they check logs there.
If Lisa has 6 years experience, she's doing something right...
the first show of season sucked, hopefully it will get better
I miss Rick and Drew
Looks like this season's going to be interesting, focusing on Alaskan drivers and throwing one of the Canadians from the earlier seasons into the mix.
1st season rocked... the 2nd was horrible!! I loved the kid that had the flat top pete... that pete was bad ass!!
Yep, I agree, Jay had the 378 winch tractor. I also liked that French guy from season 2.
HOS in the Northwest Territories are You cannot drive after:
15 hours of driving or;
18 hours of working
Seems in the first season the ice road had no set HOS regulations.
I'm not sure how you can follow their HOS, as the show is edited.
Besides, their logs only need to look good for a very short period of time, from the ice to the yard...
18 hrs a day is enough, they likely have an exemption from the resets, like some oil-patch trucking company's.
I just watched the Season 3 premiere on my Tivo, and it was not nearly as good as seasons 1 or 2. I am glad to see Alex is back for another round, and it will be cool to see Hugh driving that "Roller Coaster"! I have to say that I really don't miss Rick very much. He was just an A**, and complained way too much. He thinks he is too good to be driving a truck unless it's on the ice.
In about two seconds...knowing me it would probably take about two seconds!

As I sit looking all around,
Confusion and uncertainty is all I found.
The answers are there,
But I do not know where.
Optimistic and hopeful dreams,
Are all I have so it seems.
The future I do not know,
So all I can do is take it slow.
But I do know it will work out,
So I wait and watch without a doubt.
