Default Time to go job hunting!

Last night they told us because we're slow, junior men would have to "run wild" and stay out all week. They are going to get us OTR type freight, brokered freight, truckload freight, or whatever fits in our trailer. And whenever we pull these "otr loads" we will get 32 cpm! I dont think so! They said we could still grab a LTL load when available at our regular rate and no matter what happens they will guarantee us 8 hours a day or the mileage whichever is greater. So I would have to run 550 miles of otr freight to make more than the guarantee. Yeah right, I'll be a slacker. Of course we have daycabs so we will sleep in a motel but we're on our own for food. Gimme a break! The union is going ape-chit!

That did not make a lick of sense to me. What exactly were you trying to say, I am lost?

Snowman, just wondering, which company are you employed with?

Arguing on the C.B. is kinda like running in the Special Olympics, 'cause even if you win your still retarted.

    Sorry to hear that Snowman,
Sounds like you are just going to have to deal with it until times get better, when ever that may be? In the beginning we all thought the union was going to be great as well, but they have not done sh.t for any of the guys at the UPS Freight barn in Orlando, keeps getting worse there as well. Those guys are not happy at all and it shows in their attitudes towards the company and the union.
I am just glad I was able to get out right before the floor fell out beneath us.
Is Ohio a right to work state?
The union has no power in Florida all they can offer are decent benefits and some protection but other then that they are useless.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do...

I was wondering the same thing myself.
I was trying to figure out what language that was in.

Snowman, so that was all a joke?
I was thinking. If yall were going to be 'otr', I assume that yall would just drive for UPS Freight? Because, UPS Freight probably pays just as good as the LTL UPS, right?
I'm assuming you just pulled that over our heads.

    Yup.

There's UPS Freight (LTL) and UPS Freight Truckload (basically otr, dedicated, special service etc) which does not pay as well as LTL.

I'm assuming you just pulled that over our heads.

    Huh?
I've actually been recalled to linehaul and I'm working my tail off. Feast or famine.
