As I sit looking all around,
Confusion and uncertainty is all I found.
    The answers are there,
But I do not know where.
    Optimistic and hopeful dreams,
Are all I have so it seems.
The future I do not know,
So all I can do is take it slow.
But I do know it will work out,
So I wait and watch without a doubt

East across Tennessee? Maybe a East Bound and Down reference?
Don't trust anybody. Especially that guy in the mirror.

The part about turning the truck in cuz the wipers didnt work I took as sarcasm. Seemed like he was poking fun at Malaki. I dont know about the big space between sentences. Cd has his own dry kinda humor and wit. It was probably a typo and now the "following distance" explanation has Mat paranoid that he's being picked on too. Which it sounds he is. CD must be in a mood.
