I saw about 25 TMC trucks today westbound on I80 near Des Moines. Also saw one pulling a dry van. That was a first for me.

Well I would hope so Creek. They are based out of Des Moines.Their HQ is very very near the airport
I asked another TMC driver about it, and he said the company has "DOWN-SIZED" by 500 trucks. Wouldn't be the first to do that. The company I'm with did that nearly two years ago. What ever they did, I've heard the rumor a couple of more times now. A little variation to it, but basically the same.
Destroy the cities...and they will rebuild them.Destroy the farms...and grass will grow in the streets of the cities.
Destroy the economy of the blue-collar worker...and grass will grow in the executive offices.
The bill has come due.
( R E T I R E D , and glad of it)
Downsized by 500 trucks. I think that is near half their fleet.
Don't trust anybody. Especially that guy in the mirror.
Everyone is downsizing.
Let's face it. The economy is in the crapper, and during the slow time of the year. That only makes it seem 100 times worse than it is.
But hope is coming. You see, weather the trucks are being parked, or a bunch of new drivers are signing on, it still takes a special kind of nut to be a truck driver.
Anyone can learn to drive a truck. Only a few will become truck drivers.
Good luck, drivers.
Deja moo. It's when you feel you have heard this BS before.
I wouldn't mind becoming one of those nuts again.
As soon as this economy turns itself around, I'm refocusing on driving.
