I think you mean Andrew Ay****. Rhodes was only a passenger. He had a fear of flying.

Stupid filter. Cut off the last name.

You are exactly right! I have always assumed that Rhodes was flying that plane! Thanks for clearing that up, Double R!!!

Now now ladies and gentleman. Enough with the comedic attempts! That could have been a terrible tragedy!

Besides..........didn't any of you notice that he was pulling a JB Hunt trailer? Hell, even our cousins in the aviation field know a bad thing when they see it.

That pilot was trying to fan that coolie carrier! Go Chuck Yeager!

Got a stick of Beeman's? Fair enough.

You're absolutely right. A second or so later, and the DOWN-DRAFT from the back of the trailer would have been hell to deal with in that plane. They are not designed to CARTWHEEL across open field.

A few years ago, I knew a fellow who used to fly those things..... Crashed two of them and walked away..... Frankly, even after he gave that up..... He still didn't seem to be working with a full load of bricks...... I didn't like even riding in a car with him....
Forrest Gump was right....and some people literally strive to prove it.....everyday. Strive not to be one of "them".... And "lemmings" are a dime a dozen!

Remember: The "truth WILL set you free"! If it doesn't "set you free"....."it will trap you in the cesspool of your own design".

They lost my original "avatar"....oh well.

Those spray plane pilots are nutz! I've seen those guys fly right under the power lines by the road, and fly straight up, then make their u-turn to head back.

Those guys are crazy, but it's amazing how close they get to the ground, and the traffic when they make their u-turns by the roads.

I was once told that fighter pilots make the best crop duster pilots. Nutz... No. They just miss the old fighting maneuvers. Their way to get back the adrenaline rush...

Monday I was driving East on Hwy 256, just East of Memphis Tx. When I topped a hill I was looking into the windshield of one of the tanker aircraft from Tinker Air Force Base out of Altus, Ok. I'll bet he was less than 50 feet from the ground but was over the hill and at eye level with me. Looked like he was trying a little low level, flying, can't remember the exact term but the type that they follow the terrain and didn't expect a truck to show up at that time. He banked left hard, I messed my pants and wished I had a camera handy.

Just imagine that conversation with your Safety Director. Uh, Jerry, you ain't gonna believe this, I was just driving along, minding my own business and this great big airplane just kind of came out of nowhere ....

I am sure DOT would somehow determine it to be the truck driver's fault too!
REMEMBER, guns don't kill! It's the jealous husband that comes home early!

I dunno about the DOT. But I'm sure that coolie carriers like JB Hunt, CRE, and Swift (to name a few) would find a way to pin something like that on the driver as a non-preventable.

I have several uncles and a bunch of cousins that are crop-duster pilots. They are crazy! I remember one time when my uncle told my cousin to get the plane ready because an inspector was on the way. My cousin said...well, I can't do that. My uncle asked why not. My cousin informed him that he had hit a bird. My uncle was like "And? We hit birds all the time". My cousin said..."this one was in a tree". Apparently, he got too close to the ground. I have watched in horror as they fly inches to feet off the ground, in between poles, traffic...but they are cajuns...of course they are crazy.

That's like the pilots around, Crosbyton, Ralls, etc., spraying cotton in the summer.
Those guys buzz right above hwy 82 when they make their u-turns.
Makes me wonder if me, and the plane is both gonna be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
