Default Some drivers are so ungrateful!!!!

Pulled into the wilco on I81 in VA today. parked, took a shower, came out and there was a driver asking someone for help and i caught the end of the conversation and the guy told the driver "sorry i cant help you". So as i walked by i asked what did he need, he said he was about 20-30 ft from fuel island and ran out of fuel. I told him ill drop my trailer and try to pull him up. We didnt have a chain so i had an old strap and i pulled him up(after a few times of strap coming undone). He was only loaded with 20k. Not a thank you or nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! matter fact when i went back to untie strap off his truck he kinda "gave me the hand" as if to say shut up im on the phone....... so i just grabbed my strap, threw it in the trash(it broke) and went on my way. All i wanted was a measly "thank you". i saved the guy money too, he was looking to buy a 5 gallon diesel jug for $22. Reminds me of a few months ago when i was getting tire changed at TA and was leaving and another o/o(independent) pulled in and needed 2 trl tires(thats not what he was there for someone else pointed it out to him) i thought he was about to breakdown(cry) when the guy to him he needed 2 tires.....i told him he could have the 2extra tires i have which were 2 steer tires and about %50. I told him i know how it is out there and rolled them off my truck and set them next to his trailer....... not even a THANK YOU!!!!!!

and to top that off i bent my light assembly on the back of my truck towing that guy to fuel island. Even if i knew he wasnt gonna say thank you or treat me the way he did i still wouldve pulled him up cause thats just the right thing to do!!!

then he probably pulled up 10 feet, went in, pissed on the toilet seat, didnt flush, didnt wash his hands and then went and got some fast food and ate it while driving with his knees and weaving from lane to lane.

Marcel, while what you did was the decent thing to do, that is probably why the other guy told him he couldn't help out. He has probably had the same thing happen to him before, helped a fellow trucker out and didn't get a thank you for being courteous and helpful. What are you gonna do beside yank his rear out of the truck and give him a beatdown?

now come on marcel like you said, we all know you don't help people out for the thank you, you do it for the good feeling it gives you. the saying is true, what goes around comes around. that works both ways......... they'll get theirs one day and you'll get yours.

    so today is yours.

but now if the purpose of this thread is to rant about it rant away!

    THX VAVEGA!!!

i wasnt necessarily doing it for the thank you i done it cause its ALWAYS the right thing to do but sometimes you just get into a situation and a thank you would have been nice. I was in my personal car at truck stop(at my truck) and had a driver ask me to give his truck a jump, he tried to pay but, the thank you made my day. And like i said i still would have done it even if i knew beforehand he was gonna act that way, but i just cant get over him throwing his hand up at me!!! matter fact i also told him dont buy that 5gallon jug, i have a 1 gallon jug on the truck, its smaller but you may have to walk back and forth between pump and truck but it saves you $22. And ALSO told him i would walk back and forth with jug because he walked with a VERY noticable limp!!!!!!!!

Marcel you did the right thing! I understand what you mean by just wanting a simple Thank you! That is being decent! I stop on the road all the time and help people when I can (my wife hates that I do that, because it can be dangerous) but it does feel good when I can help! And if someone doesnt have the decency to say thank you it does bother me, but I just credit to how they were raised!

One of the reasons I help, is because I never know when I might need help or if my wife has a flat or etc, someone decent will stop to help her

Some of the guys out here are "Truck Drivers" instead of "Men That Driver Trucks for a Living"! There is a difference!
