Default I may be sorry I ask this, but...

for all of you that seem to Obama. May I ask just what goes through your mind when you hear him say things like: " I want to spread the wealth around"... " I want to raise the taxes on the rich that make ( earn ) too much and give more to those that don't because it is the fair thing to do"???

You know they have a word for that..... come on, you can say it.

Let me ask each and everyone of you this: If your boss/company came up to you and said;" We have been looking at things and there seems to be a big gap in the pay of people working in our department. Some seem to be working a lot of OT and others are just working 40 hrs. Those just working 40 hrs. have other things to take care of like small children and such and can't work OT like some of the others get to. It is not fair that they cannot bring home as much as you do. Therefore; starting this week we will take the total payroll and divide it evenly among all the employees.

Would you yell BS and quit??? Stop working any OT??? You you stand up and say;" My time is MY property and I have a right to be paid for it. I'm the one out there busting my ***** trying to get ahead and buy my own truck!"

All the small **** aside about Obama. If this doesn't scare the crap out of you then nothing will.
Find something you like to do, be the best at it you can be, the money will come.

    Unhappy

Ridge I also heard on one of the radio programs I listen to regular that the Democrats, if elected, are going to take over your 401K administration, like add it to your Social Security. Now I'm not sure exactly what that means, but it's my understanding that your 401K is roughly equivalent to our Registered Retirement Savings Plans, kind of a self funded self administered tax deductible thing that you don't pay taxes on till you withdraw...is that it in a nutshell?

God Lord if your government screwed up the federal pension plan as bad as our liberal government screwed up ours, can you IMAGINE how badly they'd screw that up? From what I heard on this program was that once that happened you would only be able to invest in government bonds? And don't those pay almost no interest? What would happen then?

And on a lighter note one of the callers to the above mentioned program said he made an experiment on Obama's spreading the wealth... It went something like this...

He had a meal in a fancy restaurant in Florida I think it was, & when it came time to pay the bill he noticed the man was wearing an Obama button hehehe, so he went outside & gave the homeless man he saw on the corner the $10 we was going to tip the waiter, explaining that he likely needed it more than the waiter, the homeless man was thankful. He then went back inside & explained to the waiter that he was doing as Obama said & spreading the wealth around, he explained that the homeless man needed the money more than the waiter so he gave it to the homeless man instead. Apparently the waiter was NOT pleased to have the money HE earned just taken & GIVEN to someone who did not earn it! I thought it was PRICELESS!

Warren Buffet's tax rate is lower than his secretary. This is fair?

Thru careful financial planning and a skilled CPA, I paid absolutely ZERO taxes last year. As a matter of fact I got a check from Uncle Sam as part of the economic stimulus package. How much does the average company driver pay? This is fair?

Your Overtime story might be entertaining but it is no way related to the tax situation and you know it AND Obama wants to lower the taxes for all of the people in your story.(I doubt anyone who gets OT is making over 250k)

How about your personal savior McSame and Failin. Don't they scare you? McSame wants to stay in Iraq for 10 to 100 years. How many more Americans are going to have to die in this war over...wait what was it for? Are we going to reinstate the draft? How much bigger is our debt going to get? How much more of our money is China going to be in control of? Thinks RAISING YOUR TAXES is a good idea. If that does not scare you I don't know what will.

Perhaps Failin as VP would. Totally lacks substance and depth. Zero Press conferences. She is not even clear of what the Bush Doctrine is. Can't name a paper she reads. Said the Bailout package is supporting Health Care and Job Creation? Thinks the VP runs Congress. And claims Couric is a "gotcha" journalist just because SHE has no idea what the answers are. She thinks parts of America are pro american and others are anti american(like for instance her involvement with the Alaska independence party) Is a mayor and governor qualified for the job, sure, Just not this one. She is a dolt and a cancer on the republican party. If that does not scare you I don't know what will. Why do I care about her, because McCain is a 72 year old man. It's not a gamble I would take.

Personally I want habeas corpus back and I want our brave men and women home ASAP. I also believe that people should not be using the ER as a routine treatment clinic and that nobody should die from treatable illnesses. I think we should talk to foreign leaders regardless of our opinion of them. Simply posturing and yelling will do nothing, we can at least try to talk to them.

Why is it that when liberals do not agree with someone they just simply cannot disagree & have a rational discussion, but have to resort to name calling & personal bashing... I could NEVER figure that one out! Would someone PLEASE explain that concept? Maybe I'm just plain stupid...but I just don't get that at all.

But then I am a conservative woman, who is successful business person, happily married, with a supportive family. Liberals hate women like me the most. Thank God I live in Alberta! Conservative women are PRAISED, RESPECTED & DESIRED here! Thankfully in my neck of the woods liberals are on the "endangered species" list....Hmm no wonder we are the ONLY province in Canada with ZERO debt, no sales tax, almost no provincial income tax, the lowest property taxes in the country...I wonder if having a conservative provincial government for the last 100 years had anything to do with that?

Oh really? take a look at all the other threads on this subject, many more "name calling" instances are about Obama than the others.

Read his post mike...Did Ridge or me used derogatory names? Did either of us? Not that I saw....I am NOT referring to other posts. Soon as a liberal posted anything he resorted to name calling right off the bat. Pretty childish...

Ill be brief and and ill keep it simple.
If you want the economy to get worse (recession --depression) vote McCain/Palin
If you make enough money and dont mind paying higher taxes vote McCain/Palin
If you dont mind americans dying in a war that America cannot win (my son is a decorated Iraq war vet)
    vote McCain/Palin
If you dont mind having your home forclosed vote McCain/Palin
Have you checked your 401K lately I have and ive lost $5000.00 but if yours is big enough that you can afford to give some money back vote McCain/Palin
If you have kids that will be happy working the fry station at burger king instead of going to college vote
    McCain/Palin
If your ok with open borders and letting illegel aliens take american jobs but still keep their illegel alien status vote McCain/Palin
If your ok with the super rich paying less taxes than you vote McCain/Palin
If you can look at the situation in America today and say to yourself wow the republicans have done a dam good job vote McCain/Palin
If you have seen Palin speak and said to yourself " i know John McCain is 72 but if something happens to him i think wee will be in good hands with Palin vote McCain/Palin

I dont know if Barak Obama is going to make a good president or not but on most of the issues he is going to try to help YOU. If you watched the debates or have seen him speak he gives you solid answers and as far as i have seen has not tryed to blow smoke up your arse. McCain on the other hand does not give direct answers to question he answers from the republican hand book.

He made a bad choice for his running mate she is unqualified , the only reason she is in the position shes in is because shes a woman(thats not a slam on women theres qualified women out there but shes not one of them) If McCain had picked a qualified woman he would have sealed the deal for himself but he chose the govenor of Alaska. That qualifies her to make ice not be the VP.
I dont want to keep losing money.
I want to keep my home.
I want to have some security when and if i retire.
I dont want to pay more taxes than some who make 1000 times the money i make.
I dont want my son recalled to a war so maybe next time he will die.

On election day I will vote Obama.

Ridge called him a communist and accused liberals of "worship". My post was posted seconds after yours and had nothing to do with your post. Ridge Runner is a big boy and can defend himself and frankly I don't take anything someone from another country has to say about my elections. And really McSame and Failin? Bad Names...PLEASE...Childish? You seriously need to check out the JUNK posts I have put up with and attempted to debate on this board before you attempt to call me childish.

Where was your outrage when GMAN calls Obama Names? How about when IronEagle2006 or all the others? O wait you agree with them so it is OK?

Maryland KW... I agree, tit for tat, and I felt your frustration, not anger or worse.

I don't mind Canadians or Mexicans voicing their opinions on our politics, as they are our next door neighbors, and I think their opinions should be heard. They don't get to vote, but I welcome their input 100%. Bottom line is, we are all North Americans, with a lot of common interest.
Canada and Mexico sure has a lot of fine look'n wimmin.
...okay...that's my "c' mon baby" interest.

Thing I have to wonder about is how much of what either party stumps, will ever actually be put into law? Hopefully, in my opinion, much of this is just to get an election, and once a party gains the administration, they can go back to being incompetent idiots...and really accomplish nothing, except agree on giving themselves raises and vacations. Whatever Obama or McCain talk about now, would still have to have some bipartisanship in order to become a successful Bill.

What I do fear is one party having control over the Presidency, and both Houses of Congress. We saw what happened in the early years of the Bush Administration, when they had this much power. Now with the Democrats about to gain control, I think our Country is really going to end up worse off than we are now...because all I ever see is bigger government, and more corruption. I am equally disgusted with both parties!

That underlines my personal overall view and opinion. Both parties suck! But right now, at this point in time with the current events, I believe Obama would be the worse of two idiots heading the list of idiots. It's not so much him in particular, but the party as a whole, and how much they have as potential to "change" and in effect screw us up even more....or lets say...faster. I'm sure the McCain administration would screw us too...just slower, as he can veto every stupid porkfat Bill loaded down with earmarks, that comes up as some special interest windfall...and send it back to be argued for years, going nowhere.

I'm proud to say, I am a Schwing voter. ...I'm voting for boobage.
I may as well enjoy our VP in a tight sweater shooting a Caribou from a helicopter. Have you noticed...firing a gun makes her nipples hard.

Thank you Roadhog...mostly I just sit back & watch with your politics...truthfully it fascinates me! We just recently had our federal elections...all of it said, done & over with in 36 days! It saddens me to see the viciousness on BOTH sides! Our politics is aomewhat more...polite?

And occasionally I will put in a word or two...when one "sleeps next to an elephant" and all that. Whether you like it or not...the things you do affect all of us in one way or another...remember during the primaries when Obama was running around in Ohio saying he was going to renegotiate NAFTA? Then he sent his campaign team over to the Canadian embassy & said..."Don't worry, nothing will change...it's all rhetoric to get elected". Remember that? I do! And then when it hit the news DENIED it, then some poor schmuck found the "memo" the embassy had written...man THAT was funny!

As for Obama being a communist...well I don't think I'd go THAT far...but he IS a socialist.... just LOOK at his policies.

Here is were I cannot for the life of me understand why liberal's think the way they do. The statement that your talking about is were Buffet made $46 Million and paid 17% income tax and his secretary made $60,000 and she paid 30%, right?

Did you know that in 2006 his company paid $4.4 Billion in tax's. Buffet is the richest man in the US now. he's the richest because his company is worth $62 Billion.

So do you really believe Buffet ONLY made $46 million dollars? He made a whole lot more than that.

If you get your news from rueters (reliable news source) he made $10 Billion dollars last year.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/busin...64885820080305

Chief Executive of Forbes Magazines Steve Forbes said, noting Buffett's fortune climbed $10 billion in the last calendar year.

Liberals believe everything they hear without thinking on their own. Do some research on income tax laws and see who is really paying the largest share of the US tax's. The rich pay the biggest share of the tax's, not the middle class man. Obama wants to tax them more?

    I believe anything you say.

I do however, like the way Mike Huckabee put it when he talked about spreading the wealth. He said, "Halloween is coming up. It would be like your kids staying at home on Halloween night, while your kids' friends are out Trick or Treating, and your kids' friends would have to give up some of their candy, and give it to your kids, just for staying at home".

Well, I don't anybody... except maybe Adriana Lima and even Hoggie at times. So, I object to the way you start this discussion out with an insult. But, it seems to be a constant in all anti-Obama threads. Nevertheless, I'll play along.

May I ask just what goes through your mind when you hear him say things like: " I want to spread the wealth around"... " I want to raise the taxes on the rich that make ( earn ) too much and give more to those that don't because it is the fair thing to do"???
First, let me say that I don't find it wise for him to use that terminology. And I don't recall him actually saying that the rich make TOO much (just that they don't need anymore corporate welfare to increase their bounty.) But, what goes through my mind is this:

Finally, there will be an end to Bush's doctrine of giving tax breaks to the super rich while, if not actually raising taxes on the middle class, at least affecting policies that have led to an economy that itself taxes our incomes beyond what we can bear. While not blaming Bush for everything wrong with the economy, I can say that most economists agree that the middle class has been decimated and lowered to the point of maybe just above poverty.

Finally, there will be a man in office who is more concerned with raising people out of poverty making them productive and taxpaying members of society, reducing medical costs that are the leading factor in bankruptcies, and holding corporations accountable for their greedy policies that ship American jobs overseas. I really don't care if Exxon or Enron makes a few million less this year if it means more jobs for Americans.

Finally, there will be a man in office who at least claims to want to bring us into the First World concerning health care for ALL citizens. Not socialized medicine, but something closer to the successful models of most countries in Europe. Someone who will take on the drug companies and reduce the exhorbitant cost of medicines. If you don't think our current system of free health care in emergency rooms by those who are uninsured (or uninsurable) is not a form of socialism, then you might want to think again. Who do you think is paying for all that free care?

Finally, there will be a man who wants to get serious about tackling the high cost of higher education... realizing that we are lagging way behind other countries with lower GDP's than our own.

There are other thoughts that go through my mind, but in essence, yes... I believe that a more "fair" chance at the American Dream is consistent with the principles of our founding fathers. It won't be easy to do, and there will be those who scream and cry at any perceived loss of their superior status of wealth. But, that has happened throughout history in nearly every country.

I might also point out that many actions our government has taken, from arming the Contras to deposing Saddam, have been in part for the purpose of improving the plight of the common or lower classes around the World. Yet, when it is suggested here.... people threaten civil war to block it. What's up with that?

You know they have a word for that..... come on, you can say it.
Yes, they do. The word is compassion and equal opportunity.

Let me ask each and everyone of you this: If your boss/company came up to you and said; "We have been looking at things and there seems to be a big gap in the pay of people working in our department..... Therefore; starting this week we will take the total payroll and divide it evenly among all the employees."
But, see.... no one is saying that except those who distort his intentions for their own political purpose.

Your example would be consistent with confiscation of ALL wealth and property of the richer class and distributing it equally among the masses. And, no... I don't think that is fair. But, neither is that the plan.

Obama wants to reduce the taxes of the working class. And he specifically says those who are working! So, why don't some of you drop the welfare hysteria and talk about the facts? To do this, he must "roll back" the Bush tax credits for the super rich to a point that is actually a lower tax rate than these people had under Reagan. I doubt if anyone on THIS board is even IN that bracket, yet you scream and cry as if someone was trying to wrench your money from your "cold dead hands."

He is not talking about taking one single dime from the rich. He is undoing an unfair tax policy that has allowed them to amass money that even Reagan didn't think they deserved, and MANY of both parties have admitted they don't need or deserve. I realize that the rich pay more OF the taxes in this country, but usually at a lower RATE. If any one of them wants to trade places with me.... I wish they'd stand up!

You DO remember don't you, that the American Revolution started with the Boston Tea Party. That was over unfair taxation on the COMMON man... not the super rich. Tea was considered a necessity at the time and increased taxation on it was perceived as an unfair and undue burden on the middle class. It was also about lack of representation. The Lords and Estate owners of early America HAD the ear of the Crown, to some extent, but the common man did not. Who has the ear of the Bush administration? Where do you think the lobbyists GET the money they throw at our government? They get it from the extreme upper class in America that is intent on keeping the status quo. We have traded the despotism of the Crown for our own "ruling class."

All the small **** aside about Obama. If this doesn't scare the crap out of you then nothing will.
I appreciate you leaving out the many other things you disagree with him on. It makes it easier if we can talk about one issue at a time. But, I have to say that I am more scared of the decline of the economic standing of the MAJORITY of American citizens, and the continued devaluation of the American dollar worldwide, than I am about the inconvenience of the super rich having to make do with last year's model of yacht!
Remember... friends are few and far between.

I saw it on the Internet, so it must be 100% factual...even if I wrote it. Right?

    "C'mon baby!"
Great post as usual Hog, I was getting worried about you until I saw the line at the end. I don't know how many serious posts I could take from our old friend. I just think Obama is the lesser of the two evils.
