    Default Who will win?

With the election coming up in the next couple of weeks, who do you think will win.

Unfortunately, I see Obama winning in a landslide. McCain is a pathetic excuse for a candidate. It seems that Palin is the only one with balls on that ticket. Why does McCain refuse to go after Obama's association with radicals? Why has McCain dissed his base? I can't help but think that this election has been rigged from the beginning. Where are the GOP fact finders, the ones that went after Clinton. Why have they not been dispatched to Chicago to uncover Obama's corruption? The Demorats sent their goons to Anchorage to smear Sarah Palin. It seems like the GOP are giving the Demorats their turn at power in some sort of prearrangement.

Both candidates are going to increase the size of government anyway. McCain is as liberal as they come, just look at his record. Obama is a dangerous community agitator who has learned, implemented, and taught the Saul Alinsky model of agitation, with a socialist agenda that includes dramatic redistribution of wealth. What great choices we have!

I am sad to say that I think you are right. If you think things are bad just wait til Obama and a Dem. controlled congress run the country. The stock market will tank, jobs will dry up and we will be back to the "Carter" years.

Let's face it.... it is congress that controls things. When the GOP took control in '94(??) things took off. Two years after the Dems. took control look where we are now.

When the Dem's took control two years ago I made adjustments to my well being. There were some people that laughed at what I did. They are crying now.

Did the GOP do a good job??? Yea, at the start then they lost site of what made them great and what got them there. They got drunk on power or something.

Look out..... rough times are ahead.
Find something you like to do, be the best at it you can be, the money will come.

unfortunately, lots of people are caught up in the 'novelty' of obama. part of me really wants him to win, just so that i can say i told you so. he is not going to bring about any sweeping changes like some think. i don't think he will do anything for the minority communities, like they think he will. that is what they are hoping, but in the end obama is just another politican who wants nothing more than power.

what i would like to know is - what will he do if there was another terrorist attack on US soil? will he meet with the terrorists and discuss their anti-american feelings over tea at the white house?

Hussein seems to be the chosen one. If elected he will blame the Republicans for everything that has happened. I think McCain will be better for the country, but taxes will be raised no matter who is elected. None of them want to start cutting the size of government, which is one of the primary reasons things are so difficult right now. Voters prefer to blame the president for everything that happens rather than congress. Congress has more to do with the budget and what happens domestically than the president. It is congress who controls spending. In this case, it is congress who can't seem to stop spending. We need to vote AGAINST every incumbent. All of them have been in office too long. It will take people with some intestinal fortitude to get things straightened out. All this tax bill (bail out) has done is prolong the inevitable. The democrats have done a good job of running the economy into the ground. It is amazing to me that so many Americans are blindly following Hussein into whatever changes he wants to make. One change you can be certain of is that our taxes will be raised if he gets into office. With a democratic congress he will have a rubber stamp to raise taxes anyway he wants.

I heard on one of the news shows this morning that Hussein has raised more than $700 million dollars all together. He will outspend McCain by a wide margin during the closing days of the campaign. I wonder where all that money came from? If elected, Homaas will have a friend in the White House as well as the congress.

I've seen a few ads for Obama, down here in FL, this weekend. I'm praying the man can be true to his word. If so, he could surprise us all, but I don't think so. He did too much "flipping around" during the past campaigning. Chicago and MI heard one thing, and CA heard another. He does seem to be able to "play to the crowd".

Couples wondering where their retirement went, workers seeing their jobs go oversease, and the like. Someone in his camp has their finger on the pulse of the area. It makes it look like we need to look at his record of how often he lied.

Another thought that did cross my mind, the association with the radical element could be where that came from. They used bombs to protest what they saw as "injustice within the system". Of course, bombings is the wrong approach to correct anything. Obama came along after the bombings stopped, but the ideals could have been passed along, and he is going about making those changes in the right way.

Everything I see and hear still says we'll have to chance to find out what he's really made of, but my own gut feeling still says "don't trust him".

It still seems to be a close race if you believe the polls. One thing about polls. You can predict the answer or get the answers you want if you ask the right questions the right way. I think that is much of what is going on now. McCain may have blown it when he voted for this new tax bill (bail out). People are still angry. They are angry at the government, angry at wall street and angry at the banks. People resent the fact that our elected officials would allow the banks to get to this point. They are angry that they are paying way too much taxes and both parties seem to want to thrust more taxes on them. There are also those who think the government is a giant cash register or slot machine. Just pull the handle and out comes money. They give no thought as to where that money came from nor do they care. After all, the government owes it to them.

Colin Powell endorsed Obama today on Meet The Press. So much for him being a Republican. And he calls himself a friend of McCain. With friends like him who needs enemies.

I am still hopeful that enough Americans will wake up and vote for McCain/Palin. I don't think we can afford to have the kind of change Obama/Biden want to make.

Obama never supported General Powell or any of the war efforts. I felt General Powell's reasoning for supporting Obama was lame and suspicious, considering how his loyalties should be with McCain. I lost respect for General Powell, and wonder what his real reasoning is, for endorsing Obama.
Oh well, they say politics has strange bedfellows.

When you talk with people from other Countries, they largely see the US as becoming more Socialist. Fear is driving this, and fear is allowing Americans to throw away their freedoms. It's shameful to witness.

Fear over the economy is what is driving the willingness to throw away freedoms. Fear is what is causing the volitility in the stock market. We are becoming a nation of weak, stupid, fearful, lazy, and morally bankrupt people.

Maybe this nation needs bigger government. Maybe this nation needs congressional control over the markets...and a much, much bigger welfare system. We have minmum wage laws, and I suppose we need a government that will impose maximum wage laws.

I think Colin Powell's endorsement had more to do with race than ideology. That is where a lot of Obama's support is coming from. I have met a number of people who have told me that the reason they are voting for Obama is because he is black. He has no experience, doesn't support our troops and is going to expand government to unprecedented levels. In order to achieve his objectives he will need to raise our taxes to the highest level we have ever seen. He has a number of questionable things in his background that the media seems to not want to address. The media wants to see him elected. They have done everything possible to help him. If Obama is elected prepare for more gun control. He wants to take the guns out of our hands. We also don't seem to hear much about this issue. Yep, Obama stands for change.

McCain has promised to reduce the size of government. I would like to see him elected and follow through with this promise. Our only hope of regaining many of our lost freedoms is to reduce the size of government. Getting more people off the government payroll and into the private sector will have more people paying taxes. Government workers don't really pay taxes in the same manner as the private sector. Their tax dollars come from our taxes. Government doesn't produce anything and survives by our tax dollars. The only way they can give themselves a raise is to raise our taxes. Many in government don't pay into social security, either. They have their own retirement program. If they were in the private sector paying money into social security it would help to prop up the system.

I'm not surprised by Powell's endorsement. His political career was ruined when he spoke in front of the UN supporting the war in Iraq. I would imagine he is very bitter towards Bush and the Republicans?

Well, I hate to say it but...I'm reasonably sure that Obama will win. McCain just can't seem to close the gap in the polls and sway the undecided/moderate vote.

Having said that, look on the bright side. Suddenly, the MSM will be reporting on what a sudden success the Iraq war is. How stable the economy is, despite having a few Republicans still in congress. We will no longer have an energy crisis, etc. You get the picture.

It will be underwhelming when a president Obama suddenly realizes he can't do hardly anything that he promised in his campaign. When Obama screws up, and he will as all presidents do, the MSM will sweep it under the rug. Newspapers can't figure out why they are failing, cable news channels can't get close to the ratings that FOX news gets. That's because people want them to report, not cheer lead.

I truly hope that someday we can go back and show the MSM everything that Obama/Biden did that went unreported vs. everything McCain/Palin did that was hyper reported.

2008, the year that reporting as we know it died.

2010 is only 2 years away, I'm sure most Americans will be ready to elect more Republicans back into congress by then.

My biggest beef with General Powell is his timing of the endorsement, and his excuses for his decision. I feel it was very disloyal to his party, friends, and the American people to take such a high profile opportunity to proclaim his support, and in my opinion in such an inappropriate manner. His reason for support was lame. Criticizing John McCain for his not so steadfast leadership, when he himself did not do such a stellar performance with his leadership.

I have to agree, his backstabbing is suspicious. I feel since he took such a high profile time to endorse Obama, then he at least owed the American people an honest accounting for the basis of his endorsement...or he should have kept his opinions and endorsement to himself, up to the voting booth.

I also agree I see Obama winning the election, short of something extraordinary happening. McCain in my opinion would not be a great President, but I feel Obama will be a huge mistake to have in office, especially with the Democratic party about to control both Congress and the House.

With that said, I also feel we are on an enevitable course, heading toward Socialism, and an economic downfall, regardless of which party is in the administration....because of the American people. We have become a nation of sheep.

I can't see McCain pulling it out now. He took what amazing energy the republican party generated with choosing Palin as his running mate and flused it right down the crapper. Hang the loss on his shoulders.

Obama in the White House? That'll be the biggest joke this country has ever seen, but no one will be laughing. This man shouldn't even be given a visitor's pass to the White House lunch room, much less a 4-year stint in the Oval Office, cutting our constitution to threads and bringing about the complete destruction of this country and everything it was founded on.

But no one wants to listen. Everyone hangs on the "change" mantra like heroin addicts shooting up. But like a drug-induced high, the crash will be memorable and the DT's unbearable.

And I have no doubt there will be a lot of people with folded arms saying "I told you so."

As a country, we're screwed. Utterly. Totally. and Completely.

Thank God I believe in God.

In 1940 Gracie Allen announced she was running for President of the United States on the Surprise Party ticket. In one of her campaign speeches Gracie said, "I don't know much about the Lend-Lease Bill, but if we owe it we should pay it." Another typical Gracie-ism on the campaign trail went like this: "Everybody knows a woman is better than a man when it comes to introducing bills into the house." The Surprise Party mascot was the kangaroo; the motto was "It's in the bag." She actually drew some votes in the November election.

So I'm voting for Gracie, who cares if she died 44 years ago
