Was just wondering if anyone would like to share any spooky experiences that they may have had while trucking, that scared the living faeces off them. Am just curious, that's all.

I saw the dog, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan! I saw the dog!
Haven't ever been scared while driving.
Fellout of a rig derrick once...that was pretty intense for about 3 seconds.
Frickin cold for 4 hours.
I was south of Wamsutter WY on an Amoco well...in January.
Slipped off the traveling blocks while trying to rig iron 60 feet off the floor.
Very very intense 3 seconds. LOL...fell in love with "Fall Protection"!!
Hated heights after that.

You mean, like coming east out of CA on I-40? Everything normal when starting out, but half way to Needles, having a passenger in the other seat, and never having stopped anywhere? Something like that? Red velvet dress with white lace, red hair done in a bun and button-hook shoes? Get the impression that she's one of five buried in the bottom of a dried up river-bed? The remains of two were washed away by high water? Then, a few months later, someone tells you that CHP found three bodies near there and all were buried so close they could not understand how they could bury another without digging up one of the others? You mean like that?Originally Posted by Graymist
Or running up US-41 in IN? Looking up and thinking "I GOTTA GET OUTTA HERE. THERE'S GONNA BE A PLANE COMING DOWN AND IF I'M HERE, IT'LL COME DOWN ON ME." Call the FAA and get 120 questions to which the answer is "I DON'T KNOW.". But, a week later, a commuter plane ices up, falls out of the sky into northeast IN, and all 57 on board are killed. Is that what you mean? Not sure the spelling... Schererville? Something like that. Reb might remember, it was about 12 years ago or so.
Nope. I'll never admit to anything like that. They'd be measureing me for a STRAIGHT-JACKET.
Destroy the cities...and they will rebuild them.Destroy the farms...and grass will grow in the streets of the cities.
Destroy the economy of the blue-collar worker...and grass will grow in the executive offices.
The bill has come due.

1)Had a Swift guy turn left out in front of me on Hwy 24 in Ohio the other day...never been on the brakes so hard in my few short years of doing this.
2)Also had a TMC fellow run me onto the right shoulder...i could see in my mirrors as this was happening that he was preoccupied with something....dont know what. ...Qual Comm....porno...food...who knows.
Its too easy to get comfortable in these machines...and forget they r 40 tons
Or driving down the road in the middle of the night & all of the sudden seein a combine that takes up the whole damned road & leaving rubber for 100 yards cause ya just KNOW yer gonna hit it...& ya finally get stopped & there's nuthin there, and you hear on the news the next day that a trucker was killed cause he hit a combine on the highway in broad daylight?
Nope not me...same as Windy...I stay silent on those...
Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says "oh crap, she's up!"
How about traveling East on I-24 in Tennessee with a load of cars. Just as soon as I start off the mountain I lose my brakes and engine. The brakes didn't work due to the engine not running. I found out later the engine blew. I coasted about 2 or 3 miles from the foot of the mountain. There was no way to get to the exit ramp from the right side. The exit ramps were on the left side of the highway and a lot of traffic in between. Is that what you had in mind?
I guess a little clarification is due, on the purpose of my query.....
When I said "spooky", I meant the paranormal kind. Would love to hear of any experiences.
Being in Jersey City and looking up again. Two planes are going to crash in the air. Only thing that made sense was a mid-air collision. That was Sept. 5, 2001...Originally Posted by Graymist

I have had a few, cant go into detail right now, supposed to be watching a movie with my wife.. Dooh Gotta go..
On the edge of sleep, I heard voices behind the door
The known and the nameless, familiar and faceless
My angels and my demons at war'
At war...
'Which one will lose depends on what I choose
Or maybe which voice I ignore...'
Wilderness of mirrors
Streets of cold desire
My precious sense of honor
Just a shield of rusty wire
I hold against the chaos
And the cross of holy fire
Wilderness of mirrors
So easy to deceive
My precious sense of rightness
Is sometimes so naive
So that which I imagine
Is that which I believe

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.Thomas Jefferson- Democratic-RepublicanResponsibility is the ability to choose your response. Victims choose to be controlled by outside forces, Responsible people maintain control by making a choice.

That happens a lot to me in New Mexico. I thought I saw an Indian sitting on the side of the road with his legs crossed. It was the middle of nowhere and I was gonna go back to check on him and make sure he didn't need anything...but there was nothing there.Originally Posted by GMAN

Driving up US85 a few years ago in ND, early in the morning, about 0200. Had just started for the day and got this feeling, almost a voice, telling me it was time to pull over. There was a nice convenient parking area right in front of me, so I took it.
I sat there for awhile, thinking to myself 'what the hell was that'.
A few minutes later, a convoy of trucks came by me that were seriously hauling ass northbound. I pulled out behind them and continued on up the road, feeling that it was ok to go now.
Not 5 miles up the road we all came to a stop.
A Southbound car had crossed the line and did a head on into a Northbound car.
The Northbound car, would have been my Northbound truck had I not stopped.
Yep...... And I still don't want to talk about it.
Find something you like to do, be the best at it you can be, the money will come.
The first truck Swift tried to assign to me still had some of the previous driver's piss bottles in it. I refused to take that truck, but I could've sworn those bottles were beckoning to me to let them take my soul
