    Default Avoid New Orleans/Louisiana if you can

    They are evacuating New Orleans right now as I type this. Evacuation is voluntary at this point, however they are saying this hurricane Gustav is a category 3 with a strong possibility of becoming a 4. It is supposed to hit landfall Tuesday morning. If you are in the area on Tuesday, I wish you the best!
    If you think you can or you think you can't, either way you are right!

    Doesn't matter where you have been, it's where you are going in life that counts!

    Your actually in a pretty decent spot! As bad as Katrina was...Baton Roughe didn't hardly see anything. Some bands from Rita went through there hard...but little damage in that.

    actually there are 4 bobtails at the far end you can't see.

    ours is the 1st one with a trailer

    Well thanks Geo. I'm going to wait until later tomorrow, unless something good comes up, see what Gus does after daylight. Maybe give the panickers time to get clear and up the road.

    Just talked to a Crete buddy of mine. He just dropped his trailer at the Walmart DC in Roberts LA and they told him to get out they are evacuating the DC.

    So he is bobtailing North as fast as he can. He said the highways are jammed so it wont be very fast.....

    What are they saying for around Texarkana and such? I'm heading for Laredo for a Wednesday morning delivery. Planning on taking I-40 west to I-35 south.
