thats the plan, i've got some pic's but the internet is to slooooow here to upload them.
I made it as far as Linden, TX on US-59 before I ran out of hours. The local weather is saying that the rain is supposed to start any time now and be heavy all night. Flash flood warnings, tornado warnings, tropical storm warnings - YAY!!!
Other than that, I've only driven in cloudy weather today.

I think I would declare an emergency and get another three hours down the road away from the weather if that is possible.

Gus is projected now to be heading for the Texarkana area.

In Mal's case he could travel to a truck stop in Longview TX on I-20 at US 79, or he could move to a truck stop in Nacogdoches, TX on US59. he could also cut through the woods back to I-30 and a truckstop in Mount Pleasant..Originally Posted by bigm3944
Either would get him away from the worst of the storm. He probably doesn't need to worry...except maybe for a ticket from the Linden PD. Their not truck friendly up there. Atlanta, Linden, Jefferson and Queen City all love to collect revenue from truck drivers and trucking companies.
Marshall is loaded up with Traffic cameras, and they are set up to capture the faces of the truck's driver, should a truck run a red light. Have a friend that got popped 3 weeks ago. Pic showed that he wasn't wearing his seat belt as well.

well we made it, Orangetxguy you were right it hit at just about 20:00.
made me think back to when we used to spend weekends on the sailboat.
In order to use the "Adverse weather conditions" exemption, the person dispatching the run had to not know about the conditions at the time the run began, which is hard not to know these days. 8) 8)
I lucked out last night. When I got up this morning to take off, I was sitting right at the outer edge of the outer band. It was raining pretty good, but only for about 2 hours. Not a torrential rain - just a good rain. I didn't even encounter any heavy winds.
Sitting in Laredo now sweating...

Laredo...I hate that town. I would consider the desire to leave Laredo an emergency! I've had to hire guards to protect equipment on a job I was doing there!!! One time, my backhoe was stolen!!! They found it at the border! Someone stole my backhoe and roaded it to the border!! At least I got it back - which is more than I could say for nearly everything else!!

i was also in laredo for a 34hr restart and the truck was in the shop due to a breakdown as i was entering the terminal. it broke down at the entrance gate with about 15 trans-mex drivers behind me. it was a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong weekend there.
the cab drivers around that town are putos. i wanted to get some tattoos done on my back and possibly the back of my neck. had the appointment set up at a place that seemed the coolest out of the whole bunch down there. the cab companies gave me crap because i wasn't speaking spanish to them. "i no unyerstand diryekshuns" is all i was told, and then i heard "pinche gringo" in the background. mf'ers!
well we had all the trucks close to each other (like a block) and everyone was ok.
this is the start first three rows are bobtails it was three deep when we were done ours is the one with the dish over the roof (got to have tv righ..?)
these trucks were moved to the other side to full in the holes
your tax dollars at work.... they had 5 of them here
guess they couldn't use the left over rv trailers...
