    Default Injured at Walmart

About an hour ago I was visiting the local Walmart and was heading into the laundry stuff aisle when,,,,,,,,,, bam I slipped and went all the way down. A quick look revealed the reason,,,, water AND detergent on the tile floor. My knee hit the floor hard and my right wrist took the rest of it.
    I wasn't hurt that bad.

Question is,,,,,,,,,,What did I do next?

    a)Started screaming,,MY BACK MY BACK!!!!!!!!!

b)Told an associate to get the store manager.

    c)Walked/Limped away

d)Stayed there until it was cleaned up.
Remember,,,,,,, If you eat a live frog first thing every morning, you can rest assured it will likely be the worst thing you will have to do all day.

I HOPE you did "B." Not that I would sue them for no reason, but you don't know at this time that you did not seriously hurt your wrist, or at least sprain it to a point that you COULD be out of work for awhile.

I would want to make sure the Manager is aware of the "'incident" in case you DO need to take any action. If all is well tomorrow or the next day, no biggie. Maybe, he'll give you a discount or something for being decent about it.

But.... I hope you were SOBER!

I'd take the Ambulance ride to the Hospital, just to flirt with the Nurses.

In retrospect, I should have done b). But the actual action taken was d).

At the moment, I was more concerned with preventing someone else from busting their ass as I had.

The culprit that caused the mess actually returned to scene. It was a 2-3 year old girl with her sister and mother.

As for me this morning, no related aches or pain of any kind.

Creek, I'm sure you realize that, that little slip could have been worth a trip to the hospital and the price of a brand new truck, and more. Glad you are ok.

I suppose, but since no one saw me fall and I wasn't hurt, it is not my style to pretend that something is that isn't.

Go back and do it again but this time pick b. And bring your own witness!

Actually, I'm very surprised by the Walmart response. I would have guessed they'd have some kind of damage control, CYA procedure for that. They must get hit with that kind of thing all the time. Did you talk to any manager?

You should do a little research. I'll give the "short story". Sam started with 1 small store. Grew it to a SMALL chain. I'm old enough to remember when he ( Sam Walton ) first started to take on the "then" "BIG BOY's" ..... K-Mart. EVERYONE said he couldn't do it. Well, you know the rest of the story.

Sam did in a BIG way what we do everyday in a small way....... He provided an answer ( solutition ) to someone problem. He gave millions a way to get " best value for dollar spent" and was able to make a profit in doing so.

The guy that signs your check does it every day. He is able to get what someone wants at a price that he is happy with and when he needs it.

You do this same thing for your boss: He needs someone to drive his truck to get something to his customer at a price that he ( your boss ) can make a profit. In turn, you make a profit by selling your time so you too can have the things you need/want.
Find something you like to do, be the best at it you can be, the money will come.
