It bothers me, but you need to look deep into WHY these things are happening. Ridiculous legislation making doing business in the USA unprofitable and undesirable, uncharted growth of the global market moving the worlds manufacturing into developing countries where labor and material are cheap, where legislation doesn't exist that cripples the economy in our country, and where companies can practically get away with murder. Couple this with America's insatiable desire for more choice at a cheaper price with an attitude of 'who cares where it comes from as long as it is cheap and I think I need it'. Don't blame Wal-Mart, blame the American people who 'choose' to spend their money on the things that are destroying this country, and blame the legislators whom have no idea how economy works, and who cater to special interest groups who's interests are far from that of the interests of our country.

Don't forget Freightliner, Western Star, and Sterling being apart of Damiler as well which is German. I was really worried when Volvo bought Mack cause there was rumors going around that they were gonna run Mack out of business! To this day I still don't approve of it and I think the reason behind Volvo buying Mack was Mack's finances or something, I forgot. I don't agree with jobs being taken out of our country and taken overseas but you got to understand the reasoning is mostly cause they don't want to pay the taxes that our country has and plus they have to confine with EPA regulations that other countries probably don't have, so it's cheaper for them and plus why waste the money to pay American workers who will demand more when they can hire some suckers from another country to do it for 5 cents a day? You can't blame anyone but the government for this and this has all started since Nazi Bush has got into office. He outsourced so many jobs in his 8 years to where I don't see how in God's green earth he won a 2nd term, it really scares me.

You forgot to mention that Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, Jeep, Chrysler (until recently), Plymouth, and Eagle have been owned by Daimler-Benz, and that Winchester was owned by Herstal Group (Belgium) until they shut Winchester down.

On the flip side of the coin, though, look at how many foreign companies are owned by American corporations, to include some landmark companies. Take, for instance, Jaguar and Land Rover, which were owned by Ford until Ford sold them to Tata Motors of India. Ford also owns the car manufacturing subsidiary of Volvo. PACCAR owns Foden (which they shut down in 2006) and DAF. Wal-Mart owns ASDA in the UK, and established its business in Canada and Mexico by running other indigenous companies out. And there are countless other examples, but, the thing of it is that it's just the nature of the global market. The buying and selling of foreign companies is nothing new.. in facts, it's old news. You only seem to be aware of two takeovers of American companies by foreign investors, and utterly oblivious to the fact that it's nothing new, whatsoever, and, if it is cause for alarm, then I'm afraid yours has come well after the fact.

On a more positive note, this cloud does have a silver lining. Now that Anheuser-Busch has been bought out by a company which knows how to make real beer, good things are bound to come 8)

    Tyson takes away labor day.
This, on the other hand, is much more interesting. Where does this story come from?

You err in a couple areas. Bush did not himself outsource any jobs while executing the duties of the presidency. He had no authority to. The decision to outsource jobs was made by business owners, and it has been going on since long before W got into office. It happened during Clinton's time in office, as well. Simply put, there was nothing either of them could've done about it, because businesses in America are not state-owned - they are privately owned.

Well I could lie to try and be patriotic but the reality of it is, nobody forced these companies to sell out. They did it out of their own free will, and hell I probably would too. Get Millions & Billions of dollars to own the company and put up with bullshlt/headaches or get millions & billions of dollars to sell out and have no more headaches. Thats a no brainer to me.

However, I will be pissed is budweiser starts to taste like shlt!

    Get it???
Thank your lucky stars he won the 2nd time!

Your right though...Kerry probably would've been so much better. In that case, he wouldnt've outsourced the jobs...We'd just have no money left in our pockets (COUGH TAX HIKES COUGH) to purchase what these jobs produce.

Of course you don't. You're just another imbecile railing against the common enemy of the left - George Bush. Let the 40 years worth of liberals running Congress long before he got there, plus Slick Willy and Jimmy Carter simply fade from memory.

This sort of thing has been happening for decades, meaning, long before Bush took office. You can thank the career liberal bureaucrats and the left wing nuts in congress who have strangled American business with stupid regulations and taxes.

What the hell are you left wing retards gonna do when Bush is longer around for you to demonize? Your buddy Hussein Obama is a dangerous airhead and I pray that loser loses big.

Oh and by the way...Bush is not the "worst president ever!!!"

That honor belongs to Jimmy Carter.

The U.S. used to have the strongest steel, textile and other industries in the world. The main culprit to outsourcing has been government regulations and over taxation. Another is the unions. Both have contributed to many industries going out of the country. We no longer have import taxes on products brought into this country. That wasn't Bush that did that. It started long before his term in office. That is part of the NAFTA agreement. Liberal believe that if it moves, tax it. They don't understand how business and the economy works. Until people start getting involved in the political process things will not change. There are too many people who look for a handout from the government. We need to make it more expensive to do business abroad than it is at home.

The name calling is not necessary and it makes you look like an idiot.

Double L.... keep doing your "homework". You have conceded that Obama would be bad for this country. 2Thumbs up in that regarding. However....keep in mind this country has been around long before 1990, and "Slick Willy" wasnt the 1st President of the United States.

What is homework? Please don't say that word. Seriously though I had a semester of Government last year and it was required for me to graduate so I done my homework.

So very true. It is our fault for electing and tolerating the corrupted government we now have. For sitting idly by, while millions of fellow Americans have seen the livelihoods shipped overseas. All in the name of corporate profits. It wasn’t regulations , or the unions, singularly, that drove them overseas, it was their own greed, first and foremost. Government regulations often have to be created in order to protect unwitting Americans from corporate fraud, chemical exposure, environmental disasters, etc.. Regulations are created because a industry fails to regulate itself. Recent prime example is the mortgage loan mess, and the Wall Street bailouts. All of which will end up being paid for by the hard working American people.
Remember Ronald Reagan, and his Berlin speech? “Mr.Gorbachev,(sp) tear down this wall!” How every one rejoiced at the fall of Communism? Well, look at us now. We embrace COMMUNIST China with our jobs and all our money. We suck up to them at every opportunity. Corporate America can’t wait to get over there. Communism is the perfect setting for corporate America. No regulations, no environmentalist, certainly no unions, (unless of course you consider a billion card carrying COMMUNIST Chinese as a union.) If a father complains too loudly his 10 year old son or daughter is working too many hours in the factory, they will simply ship him off to a “re-education camp.” , if he continues to complain, they will then march him out to a rice paddy and blow his head off. Think about that next time we all clammer into Wal-Mart to buy more cheap, toxic, counterfeit crap. Maybe it isn’t so cheap after all.

Come November, we all have the opportunity few other peoples in the world have, (especially those in Communist China,) that is exercising our right to vote. Use your vote wisely, help rid America of corruption and greed.
Tear away the stranglehold special interests have on our country. Vote each and every incumbent out of office, no matter what party, or color the other candidate may be. If there is no candidate, then DEMAND a write in ballot from your election official. Write in who ever you want, it is your vote and your right.

Most economists concur that our current tax code on individuals and corporations is killing our economy. Why would anyone want to do business here?

If we abolished income and corporate tax we would be the world's greatest tax haven.

Most economists can't agree on what day it is. They simply make the numbers work for which ever side is paying them.
