If a bear poops in the woods, does your dispatcher give you trip by the house?
I am sorry, but that is a question for Mrs. Diesel as she is the dispatcher.Originally Posted by bluebeetle

Are you hiring?
What are your requirements?
Can I run your 100mph truck?
I will only drive a freightliner. Will you buy me a new Coranado if I work for you?

What type and year are your trucks, and are they paid for?
what type of freight do you haul? General? Dedicated? Dry? Reefer?
What are your shipping lanes? (you're in Orygun right? Or is it WA? Beautiful country! Do you stay in the Western 11?)
What kind of hometime do your drivers get?
Do you pay cpm or %..... and how much?
Don't worry.... not asking for a job! Only have 3 years experience! But, I'd like to compare your successful business with the current offer I have.
One last question. What do you offer.... or NOT offer..... that a driver considering a small O/O company would consider a "deal-breaker or maker?"
Thanking you in advance for your civil and informative answers!

6) Open door and the opportunity to buy the truck( not a lease purchase) and lease on as a O/O. Full medical etc.....
What are your hobbies?
Out of the following two, which one would you chose to drive as a team with:
HoBo OR Notsteve?
You MUST pick one.
Hmmm.... interesting! Aw... chit! I didn't SAY that, did I?![]()
You said:
Can you elaborate on this? Say a driver wants to buy the '02 Century. Are you looking for a profit? Will YOU finance the purchase? What if he wants to RUN more to pay it off sooner, yet he is on salary!? Would you put him on %, and charge him for tires, maintenance, etc?6) ....the opportunity to buy the truck( not a lease purchase) and lease on as a O/O.
Different scenario: What if one of your drivers does NOT want to buy one of YOUR trucks, but wants his OWN "spec'd" truck and wants to lease on to you. How, or WOULD you help him? (assuming a MINIMAL expenditure.... not talking about a BBR who wants a Chicken Truck! )
Assuming you can find MORE freight to haul, would or could you help a driver buy his OWN truck, and lease it on to you? How would you structure the "settlement?"
Last question (for now) assuming YOU were the "driver," which of these options would work best for YOU..... and what is the ONE thing that makes the deal SWEET for you (the driver,) while not adding an unnecessary burden on YOU (the employer/carrier?)
BTW.... you didn't specify.....Oregon or Washington?

That explains so very much.Originally Posted by golfhobo
You are the head of a 2000 truck company. The FMCSA has just ruled that scanning logs for errors is no longer allowed, and each and every log must be checked for errors and violations by hand. You only have two people apply for the job - Myself, and golfhobo.Originally Posted by BigDiesel
Golfhobo offers to work for free, because he feels you deserve his expertise on the FMCSA regs. He only asks that you give him a cot to lay on, and some stale bread every couple of days. I, however, want $100,000 a year, and full benefits 100% paid for by the company. And a company car. Preferably a 67 Shelby Mustang.
You have to hire one of us, and you can't hire a second person to recheck the logs for errors later - the FMCSA made a rule about that too.
Who do you hire?
(there is a correct answer to this, and I want to see if you get it.)
