Default TV Reception and HDTV antenna

I searched around a little expecting to find a thread but didn't so ...

Has anyone found a good antenna setup that works to pull in good television (TV) signal to the TV.. Mores specifically I'm looking for something that works well for pulling in HDTV signal (considering how analog broadcast is supposed to be obsolete soon)

I'll be in a company truck (Freightliner Columbia series) an internal antenna would be preferrable but an outside antenna would be considered.

    Thanks

    Default I've used several

From one that cost about $40 to a homemade one. The best i've found was a combination that uses the signal amplifier from a commercial dtv antenna with a homemade antenna.

There are two main kinds of homemade antenna. One is very unidirectional the other slightly less so. Directional isnt so great unless you want to look for one particular station thus only really good at home and only with a remote controlled antenna. (Note there are a new type that use etched circuit boards and mmicrocontrollers to give you the best of all worlds but with much less strength).

This is similar to the one i made. The difference being that i used steel clothes hangers (easy to find and hold up well) and the amplifier. I'd hang it on the passenger seat or wherevre. Actually was nice to let my laptop search for channels and then listen as i drove sometimes. TVradio as it was. It worked pretty well considering. If you do what some do with sat tv and mount a pvc pipe on the mirror and mount it on maybe a broom handle you'd have the ultimate in truck stop tv heh.

The price on the new TV's is expected to take a plunge, in the not too distant future - probably before Oct.
You take it cheap, what's to motivate them to ever give you a raise?
