As a society we have indeed fallen to new lows. It is morally and ethically bankrupt. The elected leaders in Washington are maybe just a reflection of our society as a whole.

Your chart is wrong; GNP is registered in Trillions of dollars, not billions.

The chart is right. The reason the chart is in Billions is because GNP Unadjusted did not break 999 Billion until July of 1969. You are correct in that the GNP is measured in Trillions but $14,321.90 (measured in Billions) would equal $14.32 Trillion. :wink:
