Default PLEASE SHUT YOUR BARKING DOGS UP!!

Heres the story, I was at the White's truckstop in Raphine,VA. on 6/17/08. I got there about 5:30pm. What do I do? I park by a flatbed with a larged sized mutt tied to the trailer. Well the dog is just chillin. I start to get out of my truck and thought I was about to be bitten by two more larged sized trashy mutts that were inside the cab of the truck. Well I go into the truckstop for about 1hr and come back out to watch some TV. It was a cool evening,so I was going to get to sleep without ideling my rig....Wrong!! I could not even hear my TV. Dogs started barking and did not stop until 12am, when the driver finally came out of the truckstop. He was in there the whole time I had sit there. Well they stop until 3am and keep it up until 5:30am when he finally left. If your dogs are that chicken s**t keep them at home, if you don't have a home, get rid of them. Needless to say, I could haved moved but the lot was full by the time I had really had it. I know alot have good dogs on the truck. I am not talking about a real trucking dog. So don't take me wrong.

i hate it when people let their stupid dogs bark non-stop for no apparent reason. that crap pisses me off so much. i also hate it when my neighbors don't shut their stupid dogs up during the night. they'll bark, and bark, and bark, and bark some more until they stop for whatever reason.

ones that bounce they bark aren't dogs. they're footballs with legs that are meant for punting.

Sorry bout that hoss. j/k I was at home and nowhere near White's. I wouldn't stay at White's anyways if I could at all avoid it but I digress. I assume neither of you have ever had a dog, right? I have a 1 year old German Shep and he is a royal pain to attempt to keep quiet when he's outside. Guess what though, he is outside what a great place for him to be barking. He barks at anything that moves, if you have a way of fixing that without it being animal cruelty, please do share. I would think you have a problem with a reefer running next to you also, right?

reefers don't bother me. trains don't either. i also have a german shepard. he's 8 years old. when gs's bark, it's for a reason. i'm talking about the stupid ones that bark for no reason at all, and their owners who do nothing to stop it. i've always had a strong dislike of small dogs. i HATE hate chihuahuas. my neighbors at my dad's place of residence have too many of them that dig holes into my backyard and cause a ruckus. they're good for target practice with frozen paint balls. their owners refuse to do anything about them. they also let them run around the neighborhood. i'm still waiting for one of them to bite some little kid. man, i cannot wait for that to happen and those trashy ass people end up being sued.

i'm still hoping that they also get run over by some passing driver. hell, if i see them running in the road, i'll gladly run em over! not supposed to stop for animals, anyway.

Again.... I am not talking about a good dog. I am talking about stupid dogs that bark for no reason at all. And yes I do have dogs, if they bark I see what is wrong with them. I do not leave them in a truck for 6 hrs, just to come back out ,throw a turd off the seat and take my azz to bed. He did not even take them out of the truck to relieve themselves. I am sure they already did though. If you have 3 big dogs in your truck, take on the responsibility for them. Do not leave them out by themselves to bark and be a nusiance to your fellow drivers. But who am I kidding. Drivers don't care about each other anymore. And about the reefer, No it does not bother me! It serves a purpose.

Man I have to agree!! I was at a truckstop a while back, went to bed on a quiet night and woke up to a bark dog! The owner had tied the dog to the bumper and that dog barked for hours! And she sit there like it wasn't bordering anybody!

I think the problem is not so much the dog but the owner

I agree it is not the dog but the owner. I am sure this driver knows his dogs bark when he is away from the truck. That is why I think he could have returned to his truck to check on his dogs before 6hrs. Believe me I love dogs. They are very good companions to have on the truck. Just take care of them. If they can not behave themselves get them off the truck. Just my opinion.. All you fellow drivers have a Great Week!!! Becareful out there. Till next time....Gotta GO!!

hey now... chihuahuas are great dogs. My chihuahuas are better watch dogs than my pit, my hounddog and my border collie put together. No one sneeks up on my truck when the little dogs are on duty.

As far as the dogs that bark all night.. Sounds to me like it's the owners fault. I never leave my dogs in the truck for more that an hour or 2. and would never just let them bark for no reason. My dogs I have trained to not bark unless someone gets up on the step. It's called training and responsible dog ownership no matter what type of dog it is. Those dogs where barking because they were feeling neglected (which they were). :x
Those dogs arent trained to be truckin dogs. Just some dumb***** driver who thought he could be a bad***** showing off is mutts without a care about the animal. He should have been turned to the law for animal crualty.

If I'm parked somewhere and somebody ties his dog to the bumper and lets it bark all night....I simply cut the dogs leash .......If the knuckle dragging, mouth breathing moron can't take of the problem.....I will.

If there are those out there that want to slam me for turning someones animal loose....then so be it.

Totally better to let an animal run off and get hit by a car or go to the pound and get put down. I like to turn reefer units off too, since, after all, i don't have to deal with the aftermath

Okay, I was about to agree with cutting the dog loose, but the last post made me reconsider.

But, before THAT, I wondered.... why not go inside and have the owner paged and deal with HIM??

Failing THAT.... why not just MOVE!! I know.... you waited too late! Poor "trip planning!"

I haven't experienced this problem yet, as I rarely run solo. But, I do sometimes. I HATE barking dogs, too! But, there has to be SOMETHING I can do other than suffer and B!TCH!!

But, I agree totally with the opinions that drivers should NOT take dogs along with them if they are not well trained! Or else.... pick an offramp to park on!! Park next to ME with that crap, and you'll come out to 18 FLAT TIRES!!

But, it should NEVER go that far! What part of "professional" driver don't some people understand??

Hey, I've gone looking for an idiot driver just for staying on the fuel island too long in front of me! There's no telling what I would do to one with barking dogs!!

Anyone who would tie an animal to a bumper needs to be tied to my bumper....... and dragged a few miles...

I dont agree with you to just let the dog go but I would untie the poor thing and put him im my truck.... now i have another dog to take care of not a problem for me. hope it likes chihuahuas.
